rileymcshea3ParticipantNot even sure what position he plays, I’m guessing SG but he handles it like a PG. Not shooting it good from the field, however his impact of the end of this Louisville game is remenescent of Russell Westbrook. Kinda like a mini or college level version of the ultra competitive Westbrook.

AdamJCallejaParticipantHe is so fun to watch. He plays the game with unbelievable poise and has a smooth type of flashiness that fans love. He handles the ball like a point and passes like one too the only thing holding him back is the defensive end (although he has flashed quick hand and good feet on this end of the floor). I don’t understand your Westbrook comparison though. Deangelo relies on his clever handle, change of speeds, quick release and innate passing ability while Westbrook is the complete opposite. Can’t wait to see how he performs in conference play.

rileymcshea3ParticipantHe reminds of Westbrook by not so much his style of play, but his overall impact on the game. Had 17 points, 6 assist,7 boards, and 2 steals. Like Westbrook he found different ways to help his team besides scoring, like most top players do. The constant clapping near the end of the game and wanting the ball in his hands, just showed how much he wanted to win that game and wasn’t going to back down is what really reminded me of Russell.

reanimatorParticipantWestbrook is an elite finisher. Russell is great at the other 2 levels but a horrible finisher. Not sure who to compare him to…Chauncey Billups without the strength?

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantWestbrook is also more explosive and athletic. Russell reminds me a bit of a skinnier Brandon Roy.
He’s such a silky smooth scorer though that sometimes he reminds me of T-Mac a bit

tuck243ParticipantI remember seeing him at that Elite 24 game (is that what it’s called?)… I seriously didn’t know too many of the prospects and I asked my friend "who the hell is that?" and that’s when I found out he was going to Ohio State… At that point I knew he was gonna be in the league…
He reminds me of a more agressive Jrue Holiday. Obviously D’Angelo loves his left hand compared to Jrue finishing with both… Outside of that (and jacking a ton of 3’s) they play with the same kind of pace… If Russell continues to improve I think he could be at least around the same talent as Jrue in the NBA. The main difference is how agressive he is even when he’s looking to pass… That’s something Jrue has been missing..
