festar35ParticipantSo the Nets are said to not be bringing back Russell if they sign Irving so where does he go?
Dallas, Indiana, Orlando, Phoenix & Utah seem like potential destinations. Indiana is said to be very high on him & I’d be lying if I wasn’t excited about the prospect, but let’s be honest no one goes to Indiana. My money is on him going to Phoenix & play with Devin Booker, not a huge fan of the fit as i think they need vet leadership at that spot.

TravelinTravParticipantIve read rumors of him interested in Minnesota mostly because him and Towns are close friends. Theirs also rumors tha5 the Wolves would trade Teague to free up cap space. Would be a great fit but I’m not sure how true these rumors to be.

JDB12ParticipantIf Russell maintains or improves off of his play last season, is Kyrie really an upgrade? Their stats were nearly identical besides Kyrie being a bit more efficient. All Kyrie really has is a bigger name at this point, not much of a bigger game. Both are scoring lead guards, and mediocre defenders. I think Russell even has better court vision over Kyrie. Am I wrong saying Kyrie wouldn’t be much of an upgrade? Kyrie has playoff and Finals experience so unless they had Kyrie and another star guarenteed to sign like KD or Jimmy… I’d just keep Russell and be patient…why ruin a solid young core of Russell, Dinwiddie, and LeVert that really seemed to come together last season and surprised everyone by making the playoffs?

ChammesParticipantYoure dead on. Russell is younger and more durable, and had a lot less wear and tear. I would take him over Kyrie easily.

r377ParticipantAll of New Jersey’s hard, careful work will come undone signing Kyrie Irving. After losing all their draft picks they been slowly improving.
Russell was one of the key reason why they made the playoffs last season.
He is a better passer, less hero ball and is less injury prone than Kyrie Irving. Not to mention Russell will be a cheaper contract.
If they give Kyrie a $40mill for 4 or 5 year deal they will regret it

HitsterParticipantTo renounce Russell and not get anything in return for an All Star would be a big move. As a Phoenix fan, I’d love to sign him. The Knicks would also be near the top of the queue and he’d not need to relocate before you even consider the lure of MSG.
Dallas is an interesting one, how would ball handling duties work with him and Doncic?
Pacers makes sense and a backcourt of him and Oladipo would make them a more legit contender.
Charlotte would also seem a good fit if Kemba moves on but how they could create the cap space I don’t know unless the Nets did a S and T to take some asset back.

cohenbc1ParticipantWhat about playing them together? If the Nets’ culture can turn Kyrie into at least a decent defender, this could be the East’s version of Dame & CJ.

antiwork3000ParticipantRussell should sign with Boston. That’ll be a good trio. Maybe S&T bringing back Hayward if Nets can’t get a good 2nd player for Kyrie.

CU.LIONSParticipantD Russell would make perfect sense for Boston.. They will need a PG. Boston can just max out DR and slot him in to Kyrie’s spot. It makes Boston have 3 foundation talents all at 21, 22 and 23 years old (Tatum, Brown and DR)
Brookyn won’t match. They want Kyrie and KD or Butler.
Plus Boston will be able to keep all of their assets.
Make it happen Danny.
