UNCbasketballbumParticipantTweeted congratulations to the Heat and Thunder on a great finals, but did not congratulate Lebron. I guess this was to be expected. Do you guys think Gilbert should just grow up and forget about the whole Lebron thing or is should he continue to hold a grudge?

TyroberParticipantLeBron cost Gilbert millions upon millions of dollars by leaving. LeBron didn’t owe anything to Gilbert, but wouldn’t you be pissed off too?

jhonnashParticipantIts cuz everybody on here acts like he can’t without probably even watching him play much last year. He shot the ball very well for Syracuse all season but I will agree those workouts were at a whole different level. He is such a hard worker and his unorthodox form gives him an elevated ability to get shots off. Wow.click here click here click here click here click here click here click here

MikezParticipantI’m sorry did "LeBron" win the finals or did the "Heat" win?
Everyone seems to remember the letter dan gilbert sent, and is critizing the tweet congratulating the Heat on their championship, but nobody remembers where lebron promissed he would bring a championship to cleveland.
Oh and why doesn’t gilbert mention lebron? well why didn’t he mention wade, bosh, chalmers or anyone else on the heat roser? People are 1 sided on this Heat/Cleveland thing.

ChrisCrossParticipantCongrats to Lebron, but now it’s time for Ty Crane to win a title

sheltwon3ParticipantEven if it took Lebron 5 years to win a ring, Gilbert was going to be wrong. We all knew that. Gilbet is mad that he expected to make a lot of money riding Lebron’s skill and fame and he lost that. Lebron left because he was not getting the help he needed and as long as he played there and they went to the playoffs, they were making money and had no urgency to try harder to make the team great. They are trying harder now because they need to build Irving and other players to be cash cows too.
I think Gilbert is still pissed but he has to look like he was being the better man. Guys with his personality do not forget that fast when they lose millions.

SubZeroParticipantHe’s a grown man, he needs to swallow his pride and congratulate him. He didn’t say the rest of the Heat roster because he never talked trash to the rest of them. He keeps trying to play off this "Lebron is the bad guy" thing, but most people are tired of hearing it. It’s been 2 years, it’s over, focus on your new star Kyrie Irving and the Draft, and work on getting better

bloodshyParticipantThis is sour grapes. According to this post, Dan Gilbert didn’t even directly congratulate the Heat. He simply congratulated "the Heat and Thunder on a great finals." There was no congratulation on becomming NBA champions even. Moreover, he had every reason to congratulate Lebron specifically. Lebron is a Cleveland native and spent a number of years on his squad. After his immature and unclassy reaction to Lebron leaving, this was an opportunity for Gilbert to mend fences and be a man. Instead, he gives a half-hearted mere gesture of appreciation for a series played, without even congratulating the victor. Gilbert is such a child.

MikezParticipantThese people above telling Dan Gilbert to get over it need to get over it themselves, what does Gilbert owe LeBron? NOTHING. Gilbert never mentioned LeBron in that letter, and he sure as hell doesn’t need to congratulate someone on winning the NBA finals. I just won a FFA on MW3, I didn’t get a congratulations from the other players in the lobby, they must be bitter spineless bastards!
No really, get over it, I don’t understand how congratulating a team on a great NBA finals makes someone bitter.
Oh and LeBron didn’t get labeled as a "bad guy" by Dan Gilbert he did that himself when he went on national tv, and said "I’m taking my talents to south beach", did LeBron tell the world of all the good times he had in Cleveland during that 1 hour show? nooooo, Did LeBron thank the entire state of Ohio for cheering him on through high school and his NBA career? noooo. He waited an entire year to even say anything, then he told us at the end of the day we still have to go back to our “miserable lives”.
Again this LeBron-Heat/Cleveland thing is 1 sided to a lot of people. I should expect everyone to be idiots that way it surprises me when people say something smart instead of the other way around.
If your going to reply don’t say something stupid like “well dan gilbert blah blah blah, lebron had the right to leave” when there is clearly more to it then that.

llperez"He keeps trying to play off this "Lebron is the bad guy" thing, but most people are tired of hearing it. It’s been 2 years, it’s over,"
Now im not saying you’re wrong as its entirely possible that i have missed some stuff. But ever since the whole lebron decision thing and the letter gilbert released the next day, what has gilbert said/done in regards to lebron and keeping this thing going as you suggest? Reality is is he is probably still pissed at lebron, but if he keeps his mouth shut and simply congratulates the heat organization as a whole on the championship, why are people trying to bash him over it? Maybe he doesnt want to single out lebron for congrats and the way lebron left cleavland, i dont blame him.
Last time i checked, sports is about being competitive and looking out for your own and trying to be better then the next guy. All this PC crap about how everybody should be respectful and congratulate everyone and slobber on opponents’ knobs is getting out of hand. Are you a heat fan? If not, then you didnt win end story

For_Never_EverParticipantI don’t see a problem with him not congratulate Lebron. If you owned a team, the best player of the franchise history leaves. I Really doubt you would congratulate him for getting a ring for the team he left for.

F_DA_POParticipantmy god did "mikez" just compare lebron, the finals mvp, the man who’s won the mvp 3 of the last 4 years to….. mario chalmers?!?! and he got plus 9 cuz LeBron couldn’t win a championship in a dump like Cleveland?
