    Big man 6-11 and wt260

I think that Dakari Johnson will dominate and will be a one and done.
In this site compare him to Shaq, I personally see a version of Demarcus Cousins.

    Stats Projection

He’s also kind of like Andrew Bynum. Big Kid with good hands and good footwork. He’s not Shaq because he’s no where near the physical athlete shaq was but his ceiling could be what Andrew Bynum could have been were it not for all his injuries. He could potentially be the best player in this kentucky’s class and while people don’t see him being one and done I think he could be. From what i’ve seen of his game he’s a a big kid with soft hands and a good touch and usually mobile 7 footers are always give a look in the lottery.

Kind of? Not in terms of dimensions. Bynum has almost half a foot of reach on Dakari. That discrepancy is huge.
Dakari is a nice player. Physical, great hands, fundamentally sound, aggressive, soft touch around the hoop with basic footwork and a jumper that looks improved. I think he’s a better C than WCS is now, but he doesn’t have the physical tools that WCS has. Athletically, Dakari is nothing special and his dimensions are ordinary for the C position, which is the only position I can see him playing.

    I really like this guy.

Honestly, I would put him in the Wiggins, Parker, Randle category. This guy has all the tools to be successful at the next level and while every behind Wiggins, Parker, and Randle are afterthoughts, this guy might slip some GMs and will be the 2nd-4th best player to come out of this draft.

It’ll be interesting to see him play against guys his size. I don’t really see it with him honestly. I think he’ll be a good player, but I don’t think he’ll be dominant by any stretch. Even in his highlight videos, he looks unathletic and looks like he just dominates because he’s bigger than everyone else in high school.

In the very least, I think it’ll take him a little while to get adjusted to the college game before he starts to pay dividends.

From a build standpoint, he reminds me of Jared Sullinger, but looking at Sullinger in HS vs. Dakari in HS, Sullinger looks like a far better player IMO (and obviously Dakari could be worse than Sullinger and still be a very good player, but we’ll see).

But he has lost a lot of weight and is now at 260, looks a lot like Bynum body wise.

Anybody who compares Dakari Johnson and does scouting for a living should be fired. Shaq was a freak athlete, which Johnson is not.

I really don’t see any way he starts over WCS. Why would WCS come back if he was going to come off the bench? I’m really not overly impressed. Best center in this class, sure, but that’s hardly saying that much.

It’s really hard though to predict the tiers of these guys, especially when guys like Barnes and Muhammad were suppose to be no doubt top 1-3 picks and both underachieved. Anything is possible.

If Calipari plays his players according to merit and ability I can definitely see Dakari starting over WCS. Dakari’s the better basketball player.

As a real big Kentucky fan, I was not a big fan of WCS last year. Not saying he’s not good player and I definitely agree sign the fact that he should have been ranked higher than #41 on last years HS rankings. WCS is a really athletic 7 footer who is very raw offensively. I like Dakari Johnson a lot better than WCS. Dakari Johnson knows how to play offensively I like those aggressive post players.

Have now seen him play on a couple occasions and I can honestly say I didn’t come away impressed. He looks like a 2-3 year college guy to me. I don’t see him starting over Willie Cauley-Stein in this upcoming season and I don’t know if he will start over Karl Towns when he comes to Lexington. Not a very impressive 7 footer.

Well considering Towns is more of a finesse 4 who likes to shoot jumpers and play high post, I don’t see what the problem would be.

He actually kinda reminds me of DaJuan Coleman a bit too. Like I said, I think he’ll eventually be a good player, but I don’t think he’ll be dominant by any stretch.

Shaquille O’Neal comparison…c’mooooooonnn Aran I thought all those had gone in those mid-00s

he looks good character nice kid and a very young to become HUGE..

but I don’t think he is a big contributer in upcoming season he would better stay for 3years to have a really really good college career, and THEN maybe trying to become someone like Roy Hibbert, already fundamentally sound player from rookie year

Johnson mite and I stress mite be better then WCS now. But next year WCS will be more mature and have a summer working on his game. WCS didn’t come back to ride the pine. its going to be interesting to see how Cal handles the minutes next year…

And what will Dakari be doing this summer? Do you expect him to just take the summer off?
I’d say Dakari is more advanced as a big man at this stage and he’ll have a summer to improve as well.
