MattissickParticipantDo you guys think the kings will have Evans start at the point guard position? If not, why did they draft him? And do you think Blair will start along-side Duncan? What do you think each guy will average next season? MY guess
Evans: 17 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 34 minutes per game, bad shooting % and a lot of turnovers
Blair: 8 rebounds per game, 8 points per game, 25 minutes per game, good defense along with Duncan.

MattissickParticipantNice I know he has lost around 30 pounds and now will have a huge chip on his shoulder. With Parker, Ginobili, Jefferson, Blair and Duncan.. and possibly Bruce Bowen coming back to the spurs on a buyout, the Spurs are looking in great shape for next year. I used to hate them but I like Blair with them I hope he gets big minutes cuz he can put up big rebound numbers.

carlfosterParticipantAs a Sac-Town fan Evans will definitely start and average about 15-17 ppg, 4-6 ast, 4-6 rpg and on the flip side 4-6 turnovers. And Blair might not start at the beginning of the season but could by the end of the year. His averages might be 7-10 ppg, 5-10 boards.

MattissickParticipantI’m a kings fan too and live near Sac. I was depressed when they picked Evans because I’m not convinced they want him to be a point guard but either way they have to get him on the floor because he is their 2nd best player right now. Hawes and Thompson are just average and Evans is borderline good it seems. Any other opinions of whether the Kings will play Evans at the 1 spot or what their plans are for him?

ckowalskiParticipantHe will probably play the 2. They have too much money invested in Beno to bench him, unless they decide to trade him. I don’t know who would want him though.

d-grizzlyParticipantthe kings could trade martin while he’s worth trading. one more season of only points and a lack everywhere else(rebounds, assists, steals, fg% 3pt%.) and he’ll lose some value in trading.
the kings could get some great pieces back in return for martin.
I’m gonna support evans at the point, he can’t be any worse than what beno played like last year…jesus. If they dumped martin and got a pg and a real center in return, you could start evans at Sg.

dwat4444Participanthahahaha. Ya right homey. At most evans is averaging 12 points. You do realize you just said he’d average the numbers that Rose averaged right? Come on bro. No way. Rose= best player of a strong draft, potential greatness. Evans= possible top 5 player in a weak draft, all-star possibility. Advantage rose. Big time. So he willnot average 17 and 5. No way. No way. No way.

mb6297The Kings have no one to score except Kevin Market. If Evans starts he can average over 15 pts a game.
Can’t compare stats of Rose considering he had Ben Gordon, Hinrich and other guys who could score.

MattissickParticipantWell I said that because he will be the number 2 option in Sac. He will have endless opportunities and as a ball hog, 17 a game is not unrealistic at all. He can get to the rim whenever he wants with his strength and if he is playing point guard, they will have a lot of trouble containing him. He is 2 inches taller than rose that’s why I have him averaging those Rebounds. 17 Points is what he averaged at Memphis with the ball in his hands. In a longer, wide open NBA game, I don’t see why he can’t average 17 again. I predicted around 35 minutes per game and they do pay Beno way too much, but they realize that they have made bad decisions. Beno is not going to be any better than he is now and they are in a full youth movement. I think Evans could get some big minutes. I don’t think they would have drafted him if they didnt want him at point.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantEvans will Not be a good Point Guard…….He is A straight Out Scorer . He will Probably go Coast to Coast Then Pass The ball, and Since the Fact that they have Kevin Martin At SG….I think Things Will Go Totally wrong for the kings……honestly they should have drafted rubio because they needed a playmaking point guard rather then a scoring point guard.
I think dejuan blair was drafted extremely low, dont know why detroit chose austin daye over him?? but blair was put in a even better place ( In San antonio) he will be along side Tim duncan, who will intellect the rookie and this might develop dejuan blair into a instant Producer.
So i think
Evans Will Average 12 Ppg 4 AstAnd Blair will average 7 ppg with 8 Rbd

MattissickParticipantI think Detroit didn’t take Blair because they have a similar player in Maxiel. I’m still uncertain about Evans next season with the kings. Anyone else have an idea what they have planned for him?
