Daequan Cook-Guy who was a slasher in HS/College, but once he got to the league he became strictly just a jump shooter. Deadley from the outside. I believe he would be highly ranked in the Ray Allen category if given the opportunity to start throughout his career. He is my favorite shooter. I really used to love his game when we slashed, but I don’t know why he is shying away from attacking the rim.

What are your thoughts on Cook as a player & being just an outside threat?

Cook knows in order to play with stars like Westbrook and Durant he has to be a knock down shooter or teams would just collapse on Westbrook and Durant.

Cook was used to being a focal point of the offense but once got to college he became jus one of the guys maybe he shoulda went somewhere else and honed his skills as a complete player

The only knock I see on him is that he just shoots from the outside, instead of attacking like he did in HS/College

I used to be really high on Daequan when he was at OSU. The second half of that year though he fell off as well and came up streaky losing minutes late thus causing him to drop out of early season lottery projections. Needs to ge back to his slashing and mid-range game. His footwork off ball from mid-range was comparable to Ray Allen at a similar stage in development in high school. OSU had him adapt to more of a spot up shooter role which unfortunately has been what teams keep relegating him to. I like him with the Thunder though, could potentially help push Harden into a starting role and move Thabo backing up the 3.

    Park/Nazr/Aldrich

    Ibaka/Collison

    Durant/Thabo

    Harden/Cook

    Westbrook/Maynor/Nate
