WINTER PARK — No one knows for sure when the NBA lockout will end, but a group of current and former Orlando Magic players tuned-up for a potential season by scrimmaging Thursday afternoon against the Rollins College men’s basketball team. Current Magic players Ryan Anderson and J.J. Redick and former Magic players Marcin Gortat, Courtney Lee and Jason Williams — playing all 40 minutes — teamed together and lost the informal matchup to the Tars 101-92. But the NBA guys weren’t competing very hard. “It was good to get in the gym and play with guys who’ve been practicing together for a while,” Anderson said, his left arm sporting cuts and scratches from the exhibition. “It was a fun game to play in. It wasn’t the prettiest basketball I’ve ever seen, but it was fun.” Dwight Howard was in attendance, but he coached the current and former Magic players as several hundred Rollins students looked on. Williams, who split last season with the Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies, retired after the regular season ended. Rollins, a Division II team, won the last two Sunshine State Conference titles.

I don’t know what you guys think, but even though Orlando was only playing five players and two of them weren’t Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard, they should still win this game. They say they weren’t trying, but still put up 92 points? I dunno seems like D2 Rollins handled these five, PROFESSIONAL players.

That happens when you play a actual team sometimes. Just like the Olympics when we thought we could just throw together a bunch of players to play teams who have practiced together for years. On top of the NBA players not being in true game shape. Not surprised they lost
