D12 to Bkly for #3(ADavis) & Blo/M Brooks?

I know the Nets traded their draft pick last year,(Teams can't trade their DP in consecutive years, but they can swapped places with a team) so the only scenario where the Magic can get ADavis is that they swapped picks with the Nets. I know the Magic want veterans back but this would be a better deal than the Lakers. The Nets will continue to lose and if BLo can come back before the Trade Deadline this is a deal both teams should make. The Nets will still lose enough games so that the Magic will have a Chance @ One of the Top 3 players in this Draft.

Thoughts, Please

So.....

Magic Get:

Brook Lopez

Marshon Broks

Nets 2012 1st Round Pick

Nets Get:

Dwight Howard

Magic 2012 1st Round Pick

I think a few more players would have to be involved here. The Magic would want to send Hedo to the Nets to shed that salary so the Nets would have to send a player or two back to make the salaries matchup. Kris Humphries and Damion James could make some sense if they were added to the deal.

i just put the meat & potatoes

in the Deal i know Orl would love to shed that extra $$$. My ? is why do the Magic pay Rotation guy's when their franchise player is leaving

50 mill to JRich/BBaby. Those are franchise killing deals if you are rebuilding. Now they are stuck with a Top 3 Player who wants to leave and 50mill on the books for players nobody wants.

i just vomitted in my soup

I think this trade sucks, why would the Magic trade Howard at the Deadline when they will have a top 4 seed in the East, and have expressed 0 interest in talking to teams about a trade...Brooks is over rated as a Shooting Guard, he was picked late and traded away for a reason, Lopez is still injured and now looked at like damaged goods...Why would the Nets trade away the rights to another high pick when Williams isn't on board long term and hasn't given any signals to the Nets he would sign if they can't get Howard...If the Nets wanted to make a play for Howard they wouldn't have played Lopez until a deal was done, Lopez getting hurt killed any hope they had to get Howard, you can see it in their faces

what's your scenario

Keep Howard & get Nothing. Both teams are facing a rebuilding situation. & Both teams have New Arenas that need either a Superstar or a Key rebuilding Player. This Deal is just one of a few that the Magic can listen too.

Critics are a dime a dozen.

^ Magic would trade Howard

^ Magic would trade Howard because they are going to lose him after this year and get nothing. A top 4 seed in the East means nothing cause they don't have a shot at winning the title over Miami/Chicago/OKC/Lakers.

I think that it was a huge

I think that it was a huge mistake that they didnt trade him before the season started. This draft looks to be an elite draft and they could just make the D12 trade with any team which would take Hedo's contract and gave them a sure lottery pick so they could start rebuilding with a chance to draft 2elite talents and get rid of Hedo's bad contract. And now will probably trade him in march and have no chance to compete in the playoffs while having a winning record which will take them the possibility to have 2 lottery picks. The got a chance to rebuild very nicely and, as it looks for now, they will probably waste it. The other thing is giving the extension to Richardson. They're surely not going in the right way

Why does everyone assume that the obvious will happen

A few months ago we thought Chris Paul would be a New York Knickerbocker or Los Angelos Laker, We thought Howard was a Net/Laker/Celtic a few weeks ago too...The Magic are letting their record and playoff run make the Case for Howard too stay, along with the Max contract they can offer him...Howard is a business man and will have to weigh all his options...
Right Now the Magic have a winning record, they will likely get to 2nd round or Eastern conference Finals on the strenght of Howard and the role players, they also can pay Howard the most money and could easily use Dwight's Superstar status to lure another player in Free Agency(Example Deron Williams)...The Magic have never had a problem signing Free Agents, Shaq is just a huge name that got away, he and Dwight do have some similar circumstances on the surface but I do believe Howard will want want to leave his own mark on the game and either resign with Orlando or make a bold move and Sign with a Dark Horse Contender (one that would likely still hold a huge contract to Amnesty)

If I had to guess what Dwight will do in Order it would go has followed

1. 1st option..Dwight reaches out to Magic/Nets managemant at the Deadline, brings in Deron Williams and both Players and Teams discuss a trade of D.Williams for Nelson/Anderson/Orton and 2012 draft pick

Deron and Dwight alone can't win many games in New Jersey/Brooklyn, there is no Real chance at a Championship after the Nets clear the decks and trade for Howard, that's why I believe the Deal will go the other way around and Deron Williams will be traded to the Magic...On the Surface the move looks bad for NJ/Brooklyn but it brings them closer to Top 3 pick and will at the very least keep them young and cheap in the Lottery for the next 2 seasons(Shabaaz Mohamed and others)...The Magic will still have Jr,Hedo and other role players around Howard/Williams to make a strong run at 2 to 3 Championships instantly...

2. Second option, Deron and Dwight bolt to Dallas, Boston or Philadelphia, along with the obvious but somewhat undesirable New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets scenario...

Dallas is certainly a very Real option to get both Dwight Howard and Deron Willams, they could clear the decks by letting Odom go, Kidd retire, and possibe trade both The Jet and Dirk to make it happen, they are fresh off a Championship and Cuban will spend and make risky moves to compete, Deron will be close to home and make a case to Dwight that they could win in Big D

The Celtics have a ton of Old guys coming off the Books(Allen, Garnett and O'neal) they could also dump Paul Pierce to a Team in need of a Veteran scorer and Leader in the locker room(Ex. Wizards, Kings, Warriors)...Howard and Deron again I believe are a package deal, and I'm sure Rondo will either be moved in the process or Deron slides to the 2 much like Paul/Billups in L.A(A trio of Rondo, Williams and Howard would be very scary, the Celtics would also have the 2 draft picks and Brandon Bass in the lineup, and the possibilty of Jeff Green returning, it makes Boston an annoying realistic option for both Dwight and Deron...

The Sixers are my Dark Horse/Wild Card/Insane Homer pick...They have emerged as a Real threat in the East and are 1 scorer and C away from Contention for the next 5 to 10 years, they do have Elton Brand to Amnesty(18.5Million $) and Andrea Nocioni's Team option at 6.5 million, they also have an emerging young C in Hawes to move for peanuts(Or a 1st or 2nd pick in the 2012 NBA draft)
they would have max cap room and a Core of Holiday, Turner, Iguadola, Young, Williams, Meeks and Vucevic, plus their 2012 Draft Pick and another from a possible Hawes trade to add a energy/rebounding Pf...I think Dwight and Deron could contend for multiple Championships on that roster...
