With this win does curry surpass cp3 all time already? Obviously curry has the edge in terms of success, mvp and ring. He is also the better overall shooter while cp3 is the best midrange shooter in the league. Defense you have to give the edge to paul. I know curry improved tremendously this year in that regards but still, its cp3. The guy guarded kd in last years playoffs. Scoring I think you have to give it to curry. Its him or KD as the most unguardable player in the league atm. Passing its cp3, hes just done it for longer and better. The inatgible i have to give to Cp3. He is a great leader and many believe hes the best leader in the game today. Curry might become just as great in terms of being a leader by the end of his career who knows but right now cp3 has that over him. Heart and ferocity I think its even. Curry faced some challenges in the playoffs and showed the perseverance and heart to overcome it. Cp3 is as fierce of a competitor as anyone out there and gives it his all every game.

I personally like cp3 better and would take him over curry but I dont really think you can go wrong picking curry instead. What do yall think?

I think you have to say Curry just because the impact he creates with his shot and handle. Curry is a great ball handler great  great but he’s really great at combining the threat of his jumper with moves that just fool his defender and the guy is at Stephs mercy. There is not another smaller guard imo as dominant ever as Steph is right now and he hasn’t even finished improving as a PG. CP is a maistro with the ball but if he didn’t have a team around him he would struggle and that isn’t even a knock. Paul makes plays off the threat of his drive or the threat of a pass to get a great shot or to find an even better pass but with that there’s alot of room for error because he has to out think everyone alot of time. With Steph its hesitation, crossover, cross back, between the leg stepback dribble, head fake, stepback, shot…..wet. Have to say Curry.

I couldn’t justify taking CP3 over Curry. Curry is younger, has the MVP, and won the ring. CP3 is really good, but in my mind Curry is better at this point.

One of the all time great shooters (we’re too in the moment to really appreciate it now), MVP, NBA Champion, can and will hit any shot possible, can pass with either hand, even back at Davidson he almost led them to a Final Four (AT DAVIDSON!?)

Everything you mentioned about CP3 is absolutely correct, he is an amazing and cerebral player. The perfect PG model. Curry may not be the better defender or leader per se but his unique game and skillset is the ultimate trump card.

CP3 is a great leader.  In his 10 year career he’s never led his team past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

    Curry is younger and better.

I still think CP3 is currently better than Curry, but obviously if you’re thinking long-term, you’d rather have Curry on your team.

And in terms of all-time, it’s obviously still CP3 at the moment.  Curry’s story is just beginning to be written though; he has a long future ahead of him.

CP3 is already an all-time great. He’s not a winner though. He’s never made it even to the conference finals in his 10 year career. Clippers collapse this year was ghastly against the Rockets and the Clips had a really good team. Right now it’s CP3 but Curry will overtake him. He’s younger and just now hitting his prime. Paul is on the downside of his career. Curry has a better chance to win more rings and awards with his team than CP3 does with the Clips.

Now that Curry has a ring, this debate has officially become debatable for me. I still feel that Chris Paul is the better player, but I admit its close. Curry is a better shooter (significantly better off the dribble) and for what it’s worth, definitely possesses a flashier and arguably a slightly better handle than Paul. That’s it tho. Although Curry has made significant strides in this area, CP3 is a vastly superior defender in pretty much every way imaginable. CP3 is also easily the better passer of the two and makes better decisions with the ball in his hands. He’s also quicker, faster and stronger than Curry. Career-wise, Chris Paul is arguably one of the top 4 or 5 point guards to ever play this game. Sure Steph Curry is now an NBA champion, but I would still take Paul over him. Just my two cents.

I think they’re both excellent at what they do. They have different gamestyles and both are effective for their team. Its sad CP lost his chance this year with that 4th Q collapse, because I think they would have gave Golden State a better run than Houston did. Steph will go down as the greatest shooter ever untill someone surpasses him, and CP is already a top 5 PG all time to me.

When you think all time sure you say CP3 but CP3 at his peak isn’t where Steph is. When you look back and think just great players I look at longevity but I think you have to at least think about the peak of players careers to really asess them. Think about how great T Mac was at his peak Deron Williams D Wade Kevin Garnett. Now think about a career of say a Andre Iguodala. Finals MVP I believe he was an All Star and will probably play until he’s 35. Compare that to Grant Hill and I’d say Hill had a better career just because of the player he was in his day. Alot of people probably thought when KG was at the top of his game he was better than Duncan I know I did. Curry is unlike no other player in history and is a force that you can’t really contain. As great as Paul is he is not where Steph is right now and if he has to retire tomorrow I’ll keep that opinion.

Curry has passed CP3 as player, team player, everything!   CP3 is trying to make it out of the 2nd round!

    All Star: Curry/CP3

    Gold Medal: Curry/CP3

    Western Conference Finals: Curry

    NBA Finals: Curry

    NBA MVP: Curry

    NBA ring: Curry

This past week, CP3 got Lance Stephenson, while Curry got Larry O’Brien!!!

As a Knick fan, I would love to have either one of these guys on my team. I would favor Curry because he is a lethal jump shooter and can hit a jump from anywhere regardless of the pressure. Its a shame CP3 didn’t play on better teams earlier in his career because I think that held him back. I think the Clippers have a few good runs in them and who knows they could easily be where the Warriors are this year with a minor adjustments.

However, on a personal level, I @#$@# hate CP3 because he is a whiny little @#$@#$. Looking at his expression on his face everytime a foul is called on him, he looks like someone slapped his mother across the face. Thats just a little personal rant against CP3.

Again, they are both insanely talented and I would love to have either one, but I give the slight edge to Curry due to his age and shooting.
