If Steph Curry goes to the Knicks, does anyone see him challenging Griffin/Rubio for the ROY award. He could take the starting postion as early as the first week and his numbers will be extremly inflated. The Knicks could make the playoffs with a D'Antoni point guard and David Lee. What do you think? Curry a possible ROY?
speaks the truth.
Of course Curry has a chance to get the ROY, especially going to New York which is a bigger market than the clippers who are second in the city to the Lakers, the Knicks run and gun offense will open up a lot looks the basket for Curry and an opportunity to create for his teammates. Let's not forget the Clippers are loaded with big men and Griffin doesn't have an outside jumpshot at all, he's not better than Beasley who was amazing in college
Curry is just a GOOD scorer on the next level. He does everything else average or below for the NBA level starting point guard. (Yes, that includes his playmaking abilities). Therefore, no way is he gonna legitimately challenge B-Griff, who scores, handles, and rebounds better than the average starting PF hands down.
I think the kid can play, and my guess is whoever picks him is planning on giving him alot of shots. If he were to get like 15 and 6 for D'antoni and the knicks make the playoffs, he would be a serious contender and those numbers arent hard in that system. He also has a better shot to make the playoffs than Griffin does.
^: bias aside, i don't think so. here is why: i see 9 teams at least ahead of the knicks and the clips have a major x factor in baron davis. knicks = 0% clips = slim hope, but there is hope unlike knicks for next year playoff race.
I could see him scoring 20 points a game in New York in his first season. He will start and he has more skill than anyone else on the team already.
And yeah, the Clippers have a better chance of making the playoffs next season than New York does.
the clippers play in the west, where it is much harder to make the playoffs than it is in the east
The Clippers are NOT closer to the playoffs than the Knicks.
Based on this year's standings, the Clippers would have to win 30 more games to make the playoffs!
The Knicks just need to win 8 more.
I do expect the Clippers to have a better team than the Knicks next year, but that's not the same thing, because as the previous poster said, it's harder in the West.
nope...no way...i dont see it....he will be a reach pick at 9...
Curry is gonna suprise alot of people...
yes he could get rookie of the year because of dantonis system which is run in gun which would fit for curry perfectly...another reason is his stats could easily be better then blake (although blake is obviously the better player) because of who blake has around him...the only reason i could see the knicks chances betterm in making the playoffs is because they are in the east and the west is alot harder to make the playoffs..talen wise the clips have yall beat..and if im not mistaken most of there players were hurt last year but if they are all heatlty this year they have a fighting chance..though the lakers are still my team i would like to see the clippers become relivent
He has such a sweet shot, but I didn't watch him at all this year running the point.
On a lesser team he might be able to start immediately and put up good numbers, the question is how will he develop over the long haul. He will have to develop very solid PG skills to compensate for his lesser physical talent. He was always a clutch player that seemed to have solid court presence, so hopefully it will happen for him.
I am really rooting for him though, I really like him.
He isnt going to start and he has no position so he will struggle to find minutes. The knicks will be competing for the 7 or 8 spot in the playoffs so they wont play a weak rookie.
Yeah he does he is a PG.....
i think he's really going to challenge blake and rubio for the roy. he can score, he can pass, he's got good court vision, and in a run and gun system in new york, he'll have inflated stats. probably 18pts 3rebs 7asts.
Wasnt it Bobby Knight that said that Curry is the best passer in college basketball??
