The Crow's Nest...

Tired of flipping through countless threads about the same 4 topics I've decided to go a different route and start my very own thread. Guys can ask me questions and get actual answers or at least my opinion on the situation. One of my biggest problems is how overrated some of the prospects have been lately, and how some solid prospects have fallen out of favor with draft sites/posters/fans. Any body want to take about the prospects that are falling and some that are ranked or rated higher.

ill start the discussion about Harrison Barnes

This guy is quickly becoming a victim of his own hype, and sadly he's falling in draft boards because of it. He looks like a solid player that was well worth a top 3 pick at the start of the year, now u may get minused for suggesting he'll go top 10. He hasn't lived up to the hype and now people are jumping off the bandwagon. My questions about Barnes were never about character or work ethic, its always been defining his role. Is he a scorer, passer, defender, glue guy or all the above. I think he has to find out what type of player he is first and then the scouts and fans can see what they're getting when they draft him this summer.

he is and has been amazing since returning to cleveland

That game set him on this current course of great play, never doubted he look phenomenal this year. Wade has open the floor for Bron Bron and vice versa, Both was the guy that looked out of place early on. I think LBJ finishes in the top 3 in Mvp voting, I just don't see him winning with Wade on the same team, voters will factor that in. Heat will still get eliminated early in the postseason, they are not built to go deep this year.

havnt seen enough of Barnes

havnt seen enough of Barnes to comment...

but what do you think about this: fresh of Charles Barkley's lips, Derrick Rose is the best pg in the league over D-Will and CP3 in that order.

Is this justified?

I would be willing to bet

I would be willing to bet that Rose/Westbrook/CP3 debates are one of the 4 topics Scarecrow was talking about.....

Sir Charles is a legend and i have to respect his opinion

I believe he's a little biased as we see a ton of Derrick Rose on tv, Williams is the best kept secret in Utah and Paul is a play making marvel. Rose however has been amazing this year. Hard to pick a pg over him if this was an AP poll, but I feel like Rose is still a tad bit behind Williams and Paul. The Top 5 pg's in any order are Williams, Paul, Rondo, Rose and Westbrook...Rose vs Westbrook is like The Twilight team Edward vs team Jacob debate...I'm on team Roseward at the moment, but like any teenage girl I'm waiting for the other guy to flex his muscle and make the picture more interesting...if you get that analogy than plus one

daneboy hit it on the head but i answered anyway...

Rose vs Westbrook is the Team Edward vs Team Jacob thing only for men lol. I want to talk prospects and their draft status, lot a guys falling for stupid reasons like Brandon Knight...I don't get what scouts recently said about his draft position, it seems bogus. If he's not a lottery talent I'm not investing my time into this draft, Rubio was the 5th pick and wasn't nearly as polished as Knight is.

Who is your

Most overhyped prospects

Most over looked

Mine are

Overhyped

Derrick Williams ( dont like him at all as a sf and is a decent but weak pf)

Kris Joseph (How is he so high?)

Selby ( I see bayless 2.0)

Over Looked

Faried (Think of the success of Millsap, Blair and Big baby all dominant rebounders as Faried is)

Brandon knight ( I personally think if he lands in sac or det next year could be roy)

Vesely ( Think he is a lotto talent not a 20ish player)

Ya a while back people were

Ya a while back people were saying barnes was a lock for #1, and would get so upset if you hinted that he might not be as good as they thought he was.

hahaha

nice one crow... We had the same idea that's why I rarely post things on the forum... I just view them one by one and it's all the same... All I can say is I am pretty much disappointed with Harrison Barnes... The kid is supposed to be the best player in the nation but he's nowhere near that... I think he'll come through though in the latter part... I hope to see his real game because all I see in him are crap...

Between Rose/Westbrook, Blake

Between Rose/Westbrook, Blake being an allstar, how awesome Kevin Love is, and Trade possibility XYZ, those 4 topics pretty much take all the conversations on here, so i feel you, we need discussions about something that isnt one of those 4 things.

i love every player and topic u just mentioned

I just like variety in my diet, sue me...mcdunkin u get funnier every time I come back. I don't think we talk about Love enough, the Wolves have to build around he and Beasley. They need to trade for OJ Mayo and bring Rubio over. If he's not a franchise point guard like Rose and Westbrook he needs to be traded for one. I think Kyrie Irving would be an interesting pick for the Wolves, they need that game changing Point Guard. Flynn isn't the answer and he and Wes combined sound like a good trade chip, the Kings loved Flynn and seem like a good fit. The Wolves would love to draft the next Blake The Great Griffin, but Im not sure if Perry Jones is the answer. Hard to pass on Kyrie with a top pick, you have to think Rubio or the Syracuse duo can get you Mayo and or A top 10 pick in a trade. See what did there, urbanovereverything.
