So their entire starting lineup is on the block. It’s about time they tried something. They have been in that middle ground too long.

I see the rumours they have tried moving guys but there are no takers because of their contracts. I’m not sure about that. I think it’s more likely they are asking too much in return. Batum, MKG and Marvin can all be a piece for a contender.

Kemba is their biggest piece and they should find a suitor for him. I don’t think they’ll find a taker for D12 but he has played a lot better under Clifford so I wouldn’t be against them hanging on to him for now.

Zeller was a poor draft choice at 4 overall and although he has some support out there, he’s no more than a serviceable backup in a league moving away from big men. He’s gotta go if they get any offer at all.

So, where do you think they can offload these guys? I’ll have a go.

I have Memphis taking Marv, MKG and Zeller, three guys the can find roles for, in exchange for dumping the horrible contract of Chandler Parsons and some of their young talent and the expiring deal of Tyreke.

I think Charlotte would be happy to rid themselves of the Marv, MKG and Zeller contracts, taking back one problem to get rid of three. Parsons doesn’t make them that good that they’ll miss out on a high lotto pick.

That gives Memphis a lineup of Conley, Brooks, MKG, Williams and Gasol. MKG can be their new Tony Allen. They want to keep Gasol and keep trying to win, so I think they agree cos this is about all they can acquire with their assets.

The Hornets now have a lineup of Walker, Evans, Batum, Green and Howard. So, back to the phones —

Philly gets a low playoff seed and thinks they can make noise now. They get Kemba to play next to Simmons, Batum and Malik Monk. They give up on Fultz and let go of Redicks expiring deal.

The Hornets have moved who they want. They end up with a #1 pick who hasn’t played yet and has been written off. They have a $23mil expiring contract in Redick and a chance to see if he thrives back in NC. They flip Evans for a first rounder somewhere and they look like this –

Fultz Redick Parsons Green Howard. Salary is way down, lotto pick and bonus 1st rounder in tow, they are tanking the next two years and while they are doing it they use all the money they save on doctors for Parsons, Fultz and Howard.

    This is all good, right?

I would trade Kemba for Fultz straight up.  I like that expiring deal after 2019.  Haven’t spun it in the trade machine but I bet it works.  Batum seems to be on an early decline and Monk is a chucker that plays no D.

     Things to consider:

I don’t see them giving up on Futlz just yet…Why take him number 1and give up an asset just to move him by the deadline?

No way the Hornets want Parson his deal is bad..It may free up 2 more roster spots but reality is then you still have the same sort of numbers tied up with two less players. Of which all of them stay on the court more than parsons….

Grizzlies would do it in a heart beat as at least they would have some players that stay on the court then.

My guess is more likely the following:

A contender might take a swing at MKG or at least a playoff team. I could see a the Pelicans,Thunder,Clippers Detroit or Spurs just to name a few at least checking in to see what it would cost for him..

Marvin Williams. He is an alright Stretch 4 but who would want his average deal is the question..

Cody Zeller…The hard part with that pick was this he filled a need,He had the college resume and was even seen as a top 10 pick the year before in a deeper draft..The 2013 draft was seen as a cr*pshot no one saw any stars intially-Any one that says they called Giannis is lying as why didn’t he even go top 5 then? The only other picks you could have maybe argued were C.J MCollum and maybe Adams if they were trying to fill needs both who also would have been reaches at the time…They should do something with him though what is the question…

Kemba…Now that is the hard question Does a contender go after him and use him as a super sub or Does a team like the Kings throw their hat in the ring and do a 3 team trade to make it happen for example George hill to the Cavs, Kemba to the Kings and D-rose, another expiring deal + cavs pick to the hornets…It all depends on if you believe he is a starter or a super sub to what you give up for him..

There are some legitimate spots these gu ys  can land. The top half of my post was serious. The trades themselves werent realistic, but I put the scenario thru the trade machine to show they work.

Andy1waiting yeah, the Kemba/George Hill three way deal may work. I think they can actually shift multiple bad contracts for one bad contract – maybe not Parsons – but MKG etc can help some teams.
