, CP3 kept them in the game tonight but Memphis is a much tougher team and in the end will eventually win this series. Hypothetically speaking if Chris Paul chose to leave the Clippers what are the possible landing places for him? Dallas will have the cap space and Mark Cuban will want to win but that’s the only situation I can realistically see. I want him to return to the Clippers I’m just trying to get a read on what else is out there for him. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Like I said before and I’ll say it again, CP3 will not be with the Clippers if they lose this next game, they took a step back with a supposedly better team, if they lose against the Grizz, I just can’t see CP3 staying!

    Possible places:

    ATL- Smith,Dwight,CP3
    Dallas
    LA(Maybe?)

IDK the rest of the teams, but I don’t think CP3 will be a Clipper next year.

O ok, I thought maybe they could amnesty Nash, and I don’t think Dwight’s going back there either.

So I guess it’s ATL, Smith, Howard and CP3

Lakers is a huge NO! They can’t get rid of Steve Nash’s over 18mil for the next two years. They owe Pau 19mil Ron 7 mil Blake and Duhon aroud 4 mil each and don’t forget Kobe’s 30 mil all next season and they have to resign Dwight to the max so no way could CP3 end up there.

The Clippers problem is that our bigs suck so much. None of them can play defense, or rebound.

Deandre Jordan had a problem with Del Negro not playing him down the stretch of games earlier in the season and tonight it showed WHY HE SHOULDNT.

He got KILLED by ZBO, and he cant shoot freethrows either!

Blake Griffin is just 2 soft man, I like him, but these the playoffs BABY all that stuff yall did in the season is out the window, they gotta grind it out, and the Clippers can’t do that yet, not enough experience.

Gasol and ZBo are just too much for the Clippers inside right now.

Even if they lose this series, I’d be surprised if CP3 didn’t return to LAC.

I think they’ll fire VDN, however CP3 will be back.

You have to love the Grizzlies though. There’s nothing like a team that plays inside outside basketball. People thought this team would take a step back without Rudy Gay. Wrong.

I’d also like to give Mike Conley his due. He’s basically played Chris Paul evenly this series. I think he’s an underrated player.

Clippers should be kicking themselves in the ass for getting rid of a player like Reggie Evans…He’s the kind of toughness they lack that they could of used in this series

Ironically the Clips would match up far better with the Heat in the finals instead of a team with frontcourt weapons like the grizz… CP3 will be back though (too much money, talent, and endorsements). Del Negro is toast though unless they make the finals.

Remember that CP3 wanted to play for Laker before Stern blocked that transfer,i Lakers really want him they are gonna find the way to get him, they allwas get what they want. If they could get rid of Brow for Pau Gasol they can do everything

Which team would you rather have

    CP3-Blake

    CP3-Harden-Parsons-Smoove-Asik or CP3-Harden-Parsons-Dwight

    CP3-Horford-Dwight-Lou Williams

    CP3-Dirk-Smoove-Oj Mayo

I’d go to Houston or Atlanta if I were him

Now, take this with a grain of salt, because obviously there are factors at work here, but from a purely basketball perspective, if I were CP3 I’d be tempted to go back to NOLA.

They have the makings of a good team, a good coach and plenty of upside with their young guys.

CP3’s presence would help Gordon settle into a role as second option, he’d definitely help Davis, Anderson get better looks, and with Aminu at the SF as the designated defender, plus a few decent role players in the fold, this team probably has more upside than the Clippers, because they aren’t locked in with a knucklehead like Jordan and will be a better defensive team than the Clips with a legitimate rim protector in Davis.

Obviously this would never happen, but damn would it be awesome to see CP3 return home and lead them back to the playoffs.

They will need to add some pieces to keep CP3 in LA. With Billups and Odom contracts expiring that will give them an extra $12mill…

CP3 just wants to win. Adding him to Dallas would not give him a better shot than he has now on the Clips. I doubted it will happen, but now a CP3/D12 move to ATL seems more likely since both stars looks to be coming off disappointing first round exits. Still, the Clips will have some cap space to complete this team, plus Bledsoe as a trade chip if Paul was to resign. The Clips front office has to play this right and start making right moves. Only a team who has suffered through the years would have felt like they HAD to pay Jordan 10million. They were focused too much on keeping Griffin happy. Griffin will learn to love winning, vs losing with Jordan. They have to start making the right decisions.
Another thing is Griffin. 3 full season in and he hasn’t learned much techniques. He’s exciting, and very talented, but he lacks so much. He really should workout with Olajuwon during the offseason and learn from him. With his athleticism, he will dominate from inside out to the block if he learned some techniques, vs trying to fly over everyone. Heck, bring Jordan along and Jordan can learn how to really dominate defensively and be a real force on the boards. Griffin has to want to be a truly great player.

To be perfectly fair FastAndFurious, it’s hard for Blake to get into his grove when the only playoff experience he has are against two amazingly gifted defenses with great defensive minded bigs. ie. Marc Gasol and Tim Duncan.

Conley has really Stepped up his game this season..I remember during the 2009 draft, coach Hollins being upset when the front office didnt select Rubio..He said whenever you have a chance to bring the best passer the nba has seen since Jason Kidd you should add him…Now Hollins is praising Conley’s improved shooting and much improved defense..

I dont see CP3 leaving the Clippers…..But i do see them letting Del Negro go,if they fail to get out of the 1st round….With their roster they should be contending for a title…..

Del Negro has made a few coaching mistakes, this series..He should’ve double team Memphis bigs, but he had Blake and Jordan, who aren’t known for their defense guarding Randolph & Gasol 1 on 1..Double teaming would’ve force their perimeter players into shooting from the outside, which is Memphis weak spot……

I honestly think hes going to stay with the clips. i think he even said something like ‘theres not enough money for eric bledsoe, he is a starter somewhere else next year’ so i think that he plans on staying but IF the grizzlees close it out and eliminate them, then it may force him to think about things

If VDN is gone who do they bring in? I know it’s a stretch but Phil wants to get back into coaching but would love to stay in LA, I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about him with the Clippers. Also Lakers can’t amnesty Nash since he was signed after the CBA, only MWP, Kobe, or Pau are candidates.

It’s not written in stone that’s he’s leaving and it’s not written in stone that he’s staying either.

Those comments about Bledsoe were before the Clippers started falling apart.

My only knock is this……How are the Clippers more talented than last year, but looks as if they are going to have an earlier exit than last year’s team? That just doesn’t make sense and CP3 is probably thinking how did we take a step back with a more “talented” team…..

I really don’t see him going anywhere. I know he wants to win but I think his best bet is to stay put. The only other teams I see him going to is Dallas or ATL. But even then I think his best bet is to stay with the Clippers. Like somebody mentioned earlier, unless Vinny Del Negro can get them to the Western Conference finals or the NBA Finals. He is gone. I really would like to see them possibly go after Byron Scott and have him team back up with Paul. But can you guys help me out? I’m not that great with knowing player contracts. So do you think it’s possible the Lakers could or would do a sign and trade with Dwight Howard for Deandre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, and a first round pick? I’m just using this as an example if Dwight doesn’t want to come back to the Lakers. And technically he won’t look like a traitor because he will still be in LA lol. Is that possible or is that just to stupid to even imagine?
