Well, it is to early to say but if pelicans start badly and they think they cant resign cousins, they will probably trade him. Which team can trade for him in midseason?

Celtics has all the assets which can be realistic, but they only touch high character guys.

Thunder can move Kanter for him, what can they give more? is it wise for them?

    Can Houston make a move?

Who else can make such a move?

And if he stays full season but leaves in free agency where does he go?  Lakers are preparing cap space for him and George. ( Ball, George, Ingram, Randle, Cousins )

Detroit tried to trade Drummond for him last year, can’t help but think they’d be having another go. Depends what Pelicans want for him and where he wants to sign in the future.

Davis just signed that big contract think he has 4 more years left on it, they have time to build something around him before free agency in 2021

its been speculated that ainge is holding onto assets for Davis in hopes they suck and the pels go full rebuild which would be an ideal trade for both parties.

First thing, Randle should not be in the Lakers long term plans…at all.

That aside, the Cousins situation is tricky. He hasn’t done anything to suggest he’s unloyal, but he is a loose canon. If you add him on a team like the Thunder (no way Pels are taking Kanter for him without a bunch of picks), you risk making Westbrook unhappy because he’s gonna call the shots and Boogie ain’t gonna wanna hear that. Houston doesn’t have the assets to offer Pels. Boston is his best fit IMO. They don’t have a superstar potential player. Some may say Hayward, but I don’t think he can excel to become a top 10 player. Boogie would be the Alpha in Boston and the C’s have the assets to make it happen.

Still the Pels are in a tough position. I think at the very least they’ll wait til the deadline to see if its gonna work. If its not looking like they’re trending 6 seed or higher, they may look to shop him. Longer they wait, the less they’ll get for him.

If im orlando id offer vucevic, hezonja or ross or both as well as a lotto protected 1st. Do i think Boogie is worth more than that? Yes i do. But this is under the context that new orleans is strugling and afraid of loosing him for nothing. So this at least gives them some sort of compensation and conpliemntary pieces for davis and jrue.

Cousins in the east would be so good. The conferences best center last year was a rookie. Cousins good kill it in conference games and might actually lead the magic back to the post season. Worse case scenario, demarcus leaves in free agency and they clear 28-29 M for the off-season of 2018. Very simillar scenario to the paul george trade.

He tried to sign a super max extension with the Kings and they traded him.   He essentially lost $70 million because of that.   The Pelicans can only offer him what every team in the league can (they can just go into luxury tax since they have his Bird Rights).     So, anyone that trades for him will be doing so knowing Boogie can walk away after the season.    You would trade players you didn’t want to sign to a max extension or on a bad contract (Like how the Kings didn’t want to sign Boogie to a super max contract).

The Pelicans don’t have much wiggle room here.   They HAVE to win with him this season so he can sign an extension.   If not, look to see them move him before the trade deadline.

Celtics – They can trade Horford, a pick, and Smart or Brown for Boogie.   I’m sure the Pelicans would be happy to get a package like that in return.

Wizards – They have the worst situation in the league IMO.   They wasted money on Otto Porter and signing him to a max contract.  A player that’s not worth it and overrated IMO.   He can’t score by himself AND went missing in that Boston series.    You add his contract with Ian Mahimi’s or a Gortat’s and they’re financially strapped.   They should’ve traded Otto for PG last season.   Tried to include one of those bad contracts with it.   I doubt the Pelicans are willing to trade for Otto Porter and a couple picks for Boogie.      They would’ve been a perfect situation for Boogie, but now they’re done IMO.

John Wall has yet to sign that extension with the Wizards.   I think he’s gone if they don’t make a move by the trade deadline to free up some cap room (which is next to impossible with those bad contracts) or trade for Boogie.

On the flip side, John Wall could’ve went to the Pelicans if they didn’t sign Jrue Holiday to that huge contract.  Lol…  Regardless, Boogie and Wall will be interesting and I think could be a package deal.

He goes against their culture. Stop with the scenerios where they trade for him. Why would they give up assets for a time bomb? They wont and Stevens does not want to coach that. Seriously.

Celtic’s just traded the heart of their team for someone who’s currently going to court for assault lol So idk where you guys are getting this from. Jordon Crawford, IT, Smart…all these guys had clear additude problems before they started playing under a winning regime. I mean Smart had the same issues that Cousins did coming out of the draft, but when you take that energy and direct to to winning, perceptions tend to change.

I think this is a big year for Cousins. Not only from a $$ perspective, but because this is the first year he really gets to prove himself. Sac town was a joke his entire tenure their. You can’t blame the guy for getting upset when he has to play for a team that fires coaches every year, and is constantly throwing $$ at mediocre playres, and wasting draft picks. If he comes out, competes with KD, and has a nice quiet year, than that would be huge for him and the way we perceive him.

I also think the Celtics would make that trade if they could, but the man is about to literally double his earnings, and I don’t see anyway we can make that trade. IDK if NO would want to take back Horfords deal. But for the record, Big Al/Crowder/LakersSac pcik/ Boston 2018 pick/LAC 2019 would probably be the best deal they could get in a S&T (sign and trade because their is no way the Pels don’t play this year out…)
