LALEAKERSParticipantLooking to unload Rudy Gay’s contract in any trade including Demarcus Cousins, just saw a report that George Karl is pushing the Kings to trade Cousins.

Shaquille OatmealParticipantThe Kings are still the worst organization in the NBA. This was totally predictable from the moment they hired George Karl. What a joke.

gopack10ParticipantWanting someone to take on Gay’s contract in the process of unloading Cousins actually helps the Lakers as they can use that Gay contract (no pun intended) as part of what they are giving up/taking on in this deal. Still think it is a long shot to happen but since the Lakers can absorb that contract it makes it more plausible.
Haven’t looked into it but if the Lakers could take on Thompson’s salary too that would really help facilitate this deal. The Kings could start a rebuild mode with Okafor, Winslow, Chris McCullough/RJ Hunter (at #27 from the Lakers) and a TON of cap space. If I’m a Kings fan that sounds a lot better than suffering through another year or two of mediocre basketball with little hope of making the playoffs in the West.

chrispaulwallParticipantReport: Kings shopping Rudy Gay, trying to create cap space to sign Rajon Rondo
Lol theyre trying to get rid of their two best players so they can rebuild around Rondo I guess? Silver needs to take over, ship the team to Seattle and Sac fans can just hop on the warrior bandwagon. They dont deserve this garbage

cycloParticipantI find that hard to believe. Rondo clearly wants to play for a contender. No way he suits up for Sacramento. It would be Dallas all over again.

sheltwon3ParticipantIf Lakers have to take Gay’s contract along with Cousins then we are swapping top picks and they are get that other first round pick Lakers really don’t want. Lakers are not dumb enough to make a deal that mostly benefits Sacramento. There is no way we take on Gay’s contract unless there are is another trade that gets us a player we like and we give them have the 2, 5, 27 picks in this draft.
Lakers don’t tend to make one sided trades against themselves. If we take on Gay’s contract, we are getting something back as compensation because our cap space is valuable.

TankensteinParticipantAs bad as it would look. And as embarrassing and dysfunctional as it may be……..why not just kick Karl to the curb? Keep Cousins and implore the owner to stop meddling like a madman.
