I do not follow college basketball and I was wondering what people who actually do, think about this. The Kings are in desperate need of a true center who can match up physically with some of the more dominant centers in the league. With their draft pick would they be okay in taking either Cousins or Monroe, should they trade down and take Whiteside or Aldrich, or should they draft the best player available and try to either trade for or sign, as a free agent, a center of that caliber?

I think the top 4 are going to pass on Cousins. He will fall right into the Kings laps and they will scoop him up. I am a huge Cousins fan. I think he is going to be dominant within 2-3 years and be a top 5 center pretty easily.

I wouldn’t trade for Yao either. He fractured his foot in the first round of last season’s playoffs and is STILL not completely cleared for all basketball activities, etc.

I was also wondering what people thought of Monroe being able to play center on the defensive end against guys like Bynum or either Lopez, or even Nenad Krstic…

I think Monroe will be able to hold his own defensively against centers. He’s not going to be a shot blocker, but he holds his ground very well. I think he has potential to be a very good man to man defender.
