joe2324ParticipantIf i’m the lakers, TWolves or the Knicks and the Kings want my pick and a 2nd round pick or some other combination of assets for Cousins, I’m absolutely doing that trade. Cousins, although his attitude leaves a lot desired, is an absolute beast. I would be very happy having Cousins as my center if i’m any of those teams. Very rare to find a center with his skill set in todays game. We know Towns and Okafur have potential, but who knows. They have yet to play a game in the NBA, all speculation at this point.

BostonCs FanParticipantOnly If I’m the Knicks or Lakers I’m willing to deal my picks for Cousins. The TWolves are better off drafting young talents and having there already talented young roster grow and develop together. The Knicks and Lakers are set for free agency if they can wheel in Cousins from the Kings they will look more appealing.

joe2324ParticipantCousins is still very young and a proven big time Center. If I’m the Twolves, i’m totally doing that trade because i know what im getting with Cousins – a dominant center ( with a slight attitude issue) I’m ok with the attitude as I think he’ll mature over time.

treytalkssports.comParticipantWith a "slight" attitude issue … That’s shading the truth a bit, don’t you think?
Cousins has the worst attitude in the NBA today, bar none.

joe2324ParticipantHe needs direction. With the coach and right situation, i’m confident, he’ll be a success. He has all the tools to dominate.

r377ParticipantThe kids on this website that neg ppl make me laugh. They think you can build a real contending NBA team by using their Fantasy Basketball skills or NBA 2K on their Playstation/Xbox.
You only have to think back to the Melo-Amare Knicks and all the comments by kids on here about them being contenders….
Cousins may help you win your fantasy league or 2K but he is not good in real life. He has a bad attitude – arguing with refs, shaking his head, not running back in defense. He shoots a low fg% for a big and turns the ball over but the BIGGEST negative is his attitude. He is not a leader. He cannot get the Kings anywhere near the playoffs.
Just like Bosh, Love, Melonoma, Dwight, Aldridge, Cousins is not a leader. He needs to be second or third option to have any chance at winning. All the time he is no 1 in Sacremento, the Kings & Cousins will not go far….

wonzi_bellsParticipantMy man Cousins wouldn’t even do a workout with the Wolves in the 2010 NBA Draft process and there was this piece from Andy Katz during that draft period where the rumor was he didn’t want to play here and that would’ve been fine in 2010, where you would’ve locked him up for several years but 2018, when he’s contract runs up, is closer than you think. I’d rather keep a tangible development path with Wiggins and Towns that could probably end up being seven to eight years guaranteed rather than a three year gig of Cousins and then having to hope that he’d resign.

Sacramento will not answer the phone.

Chilbert arenasParticipantIf I’m the Kings the last thing I want to do is trade my best asset to a division rival to draft a softer slower version (Okafor).

SkalAndJamalParticipantFunny you say that… My buddy said that he’s seen Cuz and Okafor play each other in a pickup game… And Demarcus couldn’t hold his jock. Wanted to fight okafor after what okafor did to DMC.

Bencelticsfan2346Participantwhats scariest is that cousins attitude has improved so much and is still awful honestly if they do a trade it would be down say for a example(not well thought out at that) 16,28 and sullinger or Bradley from the celtics a proven talent and two picks(bobby portis?upshaw?kaba?) and they keep dieng at center with an improvement at the 4 over KG and Payne in exchange for the first pick and maybe some salary dump guys or a youngster like Muhammad or Payne to make the deal add up but why waste young talent on a guy who is likely to leave the day his contract runs out whether it’s in sac town or Minnesota he’ll pack up for New York, LA, or Boston Those teams are better off waiting till his contract runs out in three years and Minnesota is better of trading down or grabbing towns at 1 where these teams are at now they are better off letting talent develop than waste on a guy they can sign in a few years

earldaniel31Participantany Cousins trade will be packaged with Landry and/or Thompson contract(s)
-Lakers will have to surrender the 2nd pick, a couple more unprotected 1st rounders + Julius Randle
-Knicks have nothing to offer
-Timberwolves will have to surrender Dieng, Wiggins, 1st pick this year plus another unprotected rounder

Bencelticsfan2346ParticipantThere is no way the wolves give up a buddin star in wiggins another first overall pick and dieng and the lake wouldn’t have to give 2 plus unprotected first rounders along with randle and the second pick that’s absurd an well the Knicks have nothing

earldaniel31Participantif you want a 24 year old all-star who averaged 24ppg 12.6rpg 3.6apg 1.5spg 1.7bpg who has not even reached his full potential, then you’ll have to give up a lot to acquire him.. he’s a proven commodity in the NBA.. those picks are all potentials.. none of them guarantees a DMC type production
curious what NY has to offer..

BiggysmallsParticipantIf the NBA had a franchise tag or the Wolves had any chance of resigning him I’d do it.
minimum of 8 years of Towns/Jahlil vs 3 years of Cousins is a no brainer.

r377ParticipantIf I were the Kings I would trade Cousins if they can get the 2nd, 3rd or 4th pick and maybe get rid of Thompson or Landry contract. With these two contracts gone they can sign a good quality FA and rookie both at the PF & C position. Cousins was originally a 5th overall pick so they are not really losing anything !!!
Cousins has the talent but also has the attitude – I think if the Kings are still losing this year (which will likely happen) he will get more and more unhappy. Cousins shoots a poor fg% for a big guy and is turnover prone.
A combination of Brandan Wright or Ed Davis and Okafor would work. (and be cheap) Maybe take WCS high and go after Greg Monroe, thad Young or Millsap at PF.
We all know how the Kings run, they are so keen on keeping Cousins, he will just play up and his trade value go down during the season where the Kings will get less viable options than what they have at the moment, just leading up to the draft…….This is the prime time for a trade where they will get max value for him

Ummm, what do you mean by that? What does being the 5th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft have to do with anything?
And three years until he hits free agency is NOT the moment of max value. That moment is in a similar time frame as when Deron Williams got traded from the Jazz, which is a year or year and a half away from free agency, not three.

r377ParticipantIf they trade away a former 5th overall pick for a 3rd, 4th or 5th overall pick in a draft who will be cheaper and less of a headache how is that not winning ? There is only 16 days to the draft, good luck trying to move him after the draft or during the season when he has the chance to be injured or to act up and decrease his trade value…..

Willfb3ParticipantOut of curiosity why did you leave out Philly? I know the obvious reasons are that they have Noel and Embid, and are in no hurry to win. However, as Cousin’s is already a proven stud I would think Philly would atleast entertain some sort of deal including Noel and a draft pick(s).

negguaryParticipantThe only reason I’m remotely entertaining this thread is because it has been stated that Cousins does not really fit George Karl’s style of play. With that being said the sixers would not trade their pick or noel for a big man because yes he is talented but realistically that does not put them in a better position than they are in currently. In actuality it would put them in a worse position being as though they would still be without a pg or wing player, they would being eating into their cap space that they have a lot of but still, and moreover it would push them into mediocrity where they wont be good enough to win and not bad enough to draft( they play in the east). The twolves would not accept that trade period! ( potential or not Towns fits the best with their young core and style of play). La maybe biggggg maybe! They could pull it off I believe with the 2 pick and Jordan Clarkson. This way the lakers get a proven big man that is compatible with J Randle, and the kings get a young big pg anddddddd. That’s the thing Towns would have to be available or they would have to really like Russell or Emanuel otherwise they are in the same position they were in style wise but worse because Okafor is slower and cant spread the floor like Cousins. Knicks just don’t have enough, the pick alone wont suffice and getting Hardaway Jr doesn’t make sense being as though they already have two young players who play a similar game( Mclemore, Staukas ). The last team is a stretch but I actually think has the most potential of happening, THE ORLANDO MAGIC!! Here’s why they have the fifth pick in this year’s draft plus a number of quality players and by the way are interested in Winning now and Speeding up their rebuild. I think Cousins would make their team seriously legit!! I think what they would need to do is give up vuviec though plus the pick and possible harkless that’s a move im willing to make though for a young budding superstar. The Kings would likely do it because they get a great big in vuviec( spell check lol) who at worse will buy into George Karls system and by the way is no slouch. With the fifth pick you could add talent or position needs. Perhaps Porzingis, Cauley Stein, Winslow??
