Could Monroe sneak into the top 5?

Looking at the teams here I can easily see Monroe getting picked by NJ Minny or Sactown. He fits all 3 teams very well. Also do you think Favors could drop to 5 or 6? If NJ did take Monroe and Minny to Wes or Aminu I can see it. If you do think he can go in the top 5 how high in the top 5 do you think he can go?

well that would mean Favors

well that would mean Favors or Cousins would drop out of the top 5. I don't think Monroe will be drafted before Favors or Cousins unless those two have terrible individual workouts and Monroe shocks people.

Cuz may scare people off with weight and off court rumors and Favors is unproven. If Monroe went at 3 and Minny feels they need a SF first it's possible one of those two do drop

sure he could

Monroe could sneak into the top 5. He could go fifth to the kings and thats his best shot. Monroe probably won't go before Cousins, Turner and Wall.

I think the 2 fast risers are going to be Whiteside and Patterson.

Both measured out much better then expected. Patterson was considered undersized for a PF and there were fears he might measure out at 6ft6. He got 6ft8.5 barefoot.

If Favors falls to the

If Favors falls to the Warriors, I will be a very, very happy fan. But given his showing in the combine, I find it highly unlikely that a GM will pass on that much potential in Favors to draft Monroe, unless Monroe does something spectacular in workouts.

I think if Cousins moves up

I think if Cousins moves up then Monroe could be 5th pick but that mean Johnson will fall

Agree

I think Johnson falls. Unless Minnesota stays put & takes him at #4, he'll likely fall past Sacramento at least.

My guess is a Minnesota-Philly trade happens and Turner goes #2 to Minnesota & then Sacramento takes whoever falls to them between Favors, Cousins & Monroe.

Would the Warriors take Johnson in that situation? Most likely is my guess.

if cousins doesnt fall to

if cousins doesnt fall to them (like we all know he shouldnt) i hope the pistons get monroe. they just really need some sort of presence inside. hes big and strong and id like to see what he can do. he and stuckey could be good together with penetration and a hand off, kick out for a short jumper, or alley-oop. we will see what happens

This is what I wish would

This is what I wish would happen:

Washington-Wall
Philadelphia (stay put, trade Iggy)-Turner
New Jersey-Cousins (slide Lopez to the PF?)
Minnesota-Johnson
Sacramento-Monroe
Golden State-Favors

This is extremely unlikely; it's just wishful thinking on my part. NJ might just take Cousins as the BPA, because he could be a franchise talent, but Favors fits so well I doubt that happens. And Minnesota could also use Favors, since Love and Jefferson are better off as centers, so it's extremely unlikely they pass on Favors to take Johnson. Sacramento could also take Favors, since he's a beast down low, so if he does fall through NJ and Minnesota, it's unlikely that he'll fall through Sac as well...but a fan can dream, right?

Or the Warriors can somehow trade up to the 3rd pick or the 4th pick. One of the three best wings (Aminu, Johnson, Turner) should still be available, so the T-Wolves can still draft the best player that fills a need...but I don't know what GS can offer Minnesota for that trade to go through.

Monroe will drop

Aldrich and udoh are on the rise and monroe's short wing span won't help.

I don't think Monroe would be

I don't think Monroe would be a good fit with Minnesota. Their two best players play the same position... but I do think you're right, he could easily get into the top 5, especially with how many teams are looking for bigs.

I really think that the teams that are drafting 2-6 are going to have a ton of trade offers. There are so many teams with multiple picks to give up.

I'm hoping he doesn't get in

I'm hoping he doesn't get in the top 5 because we (the kings) will be the one to draft him. For all his skill he is soft and not a banger or anyone that will make us tougher and tenacious inside like cousins would. Monroe reminds me of Lamar odom in the sense that he would be great as a 3rd or 4th option but as the main big he wouldn't do all to well in my opinion

In

In my mock I have him going to Sacramento at 5. He fits the Princeton-style offense the organization likes there perfectly, if not Westphal's exact style. He will also give them a more effective starting center at some point in 2011.
