laarethekingsParticipantOk so my friend and I were having a talk about a trade with D Howard going to OKC and what it would look like. I said a Westbrook, Harden and Perkins for Howard looks nice for both teams… He thinks that OKC would be giving up too much in the trade. This is how it looks.

I said that for OKC side of it they would first be changing the way they play ball ( inside out game), but that teaming up KD with Howard would be too strong to pass up. I say anytime you can team up two top five players you do it a la the new Kobe/Shaq. Also they would still have Ibaka as the 3rd wheel per say to help. Maynor showed in the playoffs that he could run a team. The only spot that would need upgrading would be SG. Also that OKC would be going into next year with the best frontline in the NBA. KD, Howard, Ibaka would be crazy.
For the Magic anytime you trade away the second best player in the world it’s going to hurt… BAD! But what helps with the pain is getting back what could in a few years be the best backcourt in the NBA. Also getting IMO the best role player in the NBA in Perkins.
I say it’s a good trade for OKC because when watching the HEAT now you see that there’s only one ball and that all 3 superstars can’t have it at once. I think that Westbrook/KD/Harden are all scorers at heart and need the ball in there hands. I think in turning Westbrook and Harden into Howard helps with that also adding low post scoring.
What do you guys think?

Stojakovicfor3ParticipantWhy do people keep posting these Dwight Howard trades? He said he wants to return to Orlando and there’s a great chance he will come back. They won’t trade him!

sheltwon3ParticipantI think giving up Harden and Westbrook would be tooo much if they are only getting Howard back. Putting Nelson and Howard in that deal could give it legs but I doubt it happens. I actually like Harden playing in OKC and cant wait until he starts but I know if he moved to Orlando and got minutes. He could be a top 20 to 25 in the league.

WinterSoldierParticipantI agree with Sheltwon OKC would be giving up to much, Dwight Howard is great but he’s not that great.

esperanzafleet69Participantno chance in gods green earth, that if harden went to orlando and got minutes he would be a top 25 player.. zero chance…

iguapops420ParticipantI honestly don’t see what this fascination with Harden is. He’s not even as good a Jalen Rose and you never really heard anyone going crazy over him. If Ibaka can get the jumper down pat which he has shown the ability to do decently, I see no reason for question. Dwight/Ibaka=no points around the rim.Cook proved this year as quie capable of being the shooter at the 2 needed along with Thabo as a complete lockdown defender at the 2 with Dwightbaka behind him, and as someone else stated above, Maynor with that group would be terrific as he wouldn’t do to much and would make sure and get the ball where it needs to be.With the subtraction of Westbrook, it also allows Durant to take that final step as a go to player taking Russy’s alpha male ass and shipping him away. Not to mention they still have a first rounder in this years draft they coud get a decent role player with and even get to keep Nate Robinson and the developing center Cole Aldrich. 2 top 10 players on the same team along with a top 10 defensive big alongside he 2 stars. It’s a no brainer IMO.
Dwight/Nazr/Aldrich
Ibaka/Collison/Pleiss(when brought over)
Durant/(2011 first)
Thabo/Cook
Maynor/Nate
Throw in an MLE and you’ve got yourself a TRUE championship caliber team.

BBall4life88ParticipantIf i were OKC i would do this trade without hesitation.
It would make OKC almost unstoppable, they would just need an unselfish PG to distribute the ball to them and a couple of role players to fill their roster,…easy.
It would be Shaq and Kobe version 2…. = multiple championships.
…However, this trade would never happen and I would like to see Howard stay in Orlando.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSo… who would even play for the Thunder? I mean, they gave up Harden AND Westbrook.
Is Dwight Howard even leaving? I thought he said he wanted to stay.
