    Are these playoff teams contenders or pretenders?

    • Spurs: Contender
    • Bulls: Contender
    • Heat: Contender
    • Mavericks: Pretender
    • Lakers: Contender
    • Celtics: Contender
    • Thunder: Contender
    • Magic: Pretender
    • Hawks: Pretender
    • Blazers: Contender
    • Knicks: Pretender

    You cant really say other than the Celtics and Lakers who is a contender because everything changes come playoff time. A person who started watching the nba this year would think the lakers are pretenders the way they cruise through the regular season..

     Contender / Pretender

    Spurs – Contenders; been here before..
    Bulls – Contenders; MVP leading them
    Heat – Contenders; Sadly… but they do have The Big Three
    Mavericks – Pretenders; No real threat to reach the Finals
    Lakers – Contenders; Phil Jackson and Kobe? Never bet against them (Well I always do)
    Celtics – Contenders; barely…
    Thunder – Contenders; Kevin Durant and Westbrook are Beast! Great Trades helped!
    Magic – Pretender; 2nd Round Exit.
    Hawks – Pretender; DUH
    Blazers – Pretender; Sorry LaMarcus Aldridge, but you’re not enough even with the others stepping up
    Knicks – Pretender; hesitant to type that, but with Mike D as the coach, I just can’t go with them.

    What about the Nuggets?  That team is LOADED.  Not sure who the crunch time go-to guy is but they go 10 or 11 deep.  How long is Gallo gonna be out?

    yeah can’t take anyone seriously who think the celtics are pretenders when they are always tough int he playoffs. I’m not sold onthe Bulls yet since they have proven nothing in the playoffs just like clevland when they were killing it in the regular season

    Knicks are contenders Melo, STAT and Mr. Big Shot can lead this team it just depends on TD, Fields, The Williams Boys, JJ, Turiaf and Roger Mason

    In the past, the Blazers have been pretenders.  But with the addition of a highly effective LaMarcus Aldridge, they are a West contender with the inconsistencies of the Spurs and the Lakers.
