And move over Lonzo…turns out Magic with a Jumper, the Youngest player Ever, to record a triple double, is no longer Tinseltown Lonzo…and happens to be:

Baby Processor Markelle Fultz. 13 10 and 10 in 25 minutes.  Markelle did it in his 13th game at age 19y 10m.  They whipped the Bucks.

Lonzo did it 20y 1m.  He put up 19 12r 13a in 39 minutes.  He also did it in his 13th game.  And they lost to the Bucks.

Markelle’s triple double is nowehre on ESPN yet…while Lonzo’s was…go figure.

    Remarkable, for the record books!

Society, as currently constructed, certainly awards the ability to generate attention exponentially more than achievement.

The thing that impresses me about Fultz and Simmons is they are comfortable being who they are and not trying to prove that they are something else. Neither can shoot the 3, so they don’t shoot the 3.

Maybe that changes in the future, but for now, they are content to do the things they can do well, and they don’t hurt their team by trying to prove people wrong who are opining about their shortcomings. If Simmons had spent the season chucking 3s, the 6ers probably wouldn’t be where they are.

has made the Sixers a Very dangerous team b/c instead of the 2nd unit holding on for dear life w/ TJ McConnel at the PG  spot, w/ Fultz the Sixers are stepping on the gas when the 2nd Unit enters

For a large part of the season Phila’s starting 5 were the #1 ranked starting unit in the NBA according to advanced analytics

But against playoff teams their 2nd unit was being eviscerated mainly b/c their perimeter defense was terrible & there was no Joel Embiid in the middle w/ the 2nd team

TJ McConnel & Jerryd Bayless were just being destroyed by pretty much every back up pg for a playoff team – against the lower level teams they could hang in there but against the good teams, the Starters would stake a lead & the 2nd Unit would promptly give it away & at the Off end they could get No open shots b/c they had No dribble penetration from the back up PG – so at Both ends it was a struggle

Then Marco Belinelli & Erson Ilyasova decided to join the Sixers as a package deal b/c they Knew that Phila was one of the few Playoff level teams were Bench minutes were available & this was a Big upgrade for the Sixers But on the perimeter they were Still being murdered at both ends by the 2nd unit

Then Fultz appeared as if dropped out of the sky & even though he is still not shooting 3’s – he is running that 2nd Unit almost identically to how Simmons runs the 1st Unit. On offense Fultz runs the system but any time he wants he penetrates of the dribble & collapses the Defense to create an open look for a teammate for attack the rim or pull up for a Jumper from 18 ft & in

And on Defense Fultz’s size, length & athleticism are causing Major problems for opposing guards, Fultz has the quickness & foot speed to stay in front of his man, he’s got the same wing span as Josh Jackson (6’10”) so he’s running opponents off the 3pt line & wreaking havoc in the passing lanes, he’s grabbing rebounds & launching out in transition on the Break

And w/ Belinelli & Ilyasova basically functioning like JJ Reddick & Dario Saric do on the 1st team their 2nd team has suddenly gone from desperately trying not to be steam rolled to basically stepping on the gas to extend leads the starters built.

Slowly Phila’s coach has played Fultz along side Simmons on the 1st unit & it’s down right scary & remember Embiid is out – so we have not even seen the 3 of them together. W/ Covington, Simmons & Fultz length & athleticism attacking the passing lanes & the perimeter & not caring about penetration b/c Embiid will eventually be behind them guarding the Rim & along w/ Saric leading the NBA & rebounding – this is their future starting line up for Many years & I just don’t know how opposing teams will deal w/ this level of talent collected in one place – ALL 19 – 24 years old

Since Fultz came back, we seem to extend the lead in games with the 2nd unit rather than wilt like earlier in the year

Fultz will snap out of the mental thing and start shooting again. It happens in sports sometimes, you see guys who get a technical hitch with their physical action and just can’t get over it mentally, whether it’s a baseball pitch, tennis serve, batting technique in cricket, penalty kicks in soccer, the list goes on. Look at the Magic’s Nick Anderson’s free throws post 1994-95(?) Finals… Stress can really turn into a mental health issue. With the monkey off his back and confidence in being productive, Fultz will get back to shooting the long ball. I’ll be surprised if he’s not raining them down at the latest by the end of year 3.

He played very tough, He didnt look passive on defense and made a lot of attempts to create possessions by being very active..

He continues to stay focused on the defensive end and he’ll continue to earn Brett Browns trust.

As you have stated Ball did his triple double in game 13- Which was 69 games before Fultz did his

    vs

Fultz technically did his in game 82 of the season

I’m not saying what Futlz did was not impressive it was  but at least give Ball some props for doing it so as his tripple double was also impressive. He even just about did it in his second game but was one off it then.

The other thing is on ESPN it doesn’t mean jack as when he was getting hyped the dad had them in the back pocket. Fultz accomplishment was on Nba T.V which means more any way as we all know ESPN is a joke/controlled by what the viewers are interested in not necessarily the best story/accomplishment.

Oh for God’s sake it was Fultz’s 14th game, not that different.

L.A. based media ignoring this after declaring Ball a Future H.O.F. after he was once in the same place.

Fultz is quickly becoming the anti Ball.
