     First stat line:

    23.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.3 blocks, .413% from the field.

    Second stat line:

    22.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.4 blocks, .416% from the field.

The first is LeBron James this year so far for the Cavs.  Not quite Jordanesque…

    BUT,

The SECOND sat line is from Michael Jordan’s first season with the Wizards.

LeBron is 38 in Jordan years.

It’s funny how much the media can make people over react.Yeah LeBron and the Cavs aren’t looking that good right now, but in about 2 or 3 months the same people on ESPN who are freaking out about how bad they are playing right now,are going to be the same people who are going to be say stuff like "Best team of Alltime?" and "Can anyone come close to the Cavs?"

you can’t say much about a team or a player’s stats… There isn’t enough data to confirm any assumption you may have… Only thing you have is an eye test on a players improving or declining game… And even then you may be mislead… Remember Paul George the first 2 months of last season? People were shouting MVP and then his numbers dropped to 21 points a game on 42% shooting…

Well, coming out of college one of my comparisons for Anthony Davis was Pervis Ellison.  Last year Anthony Davis posted Pervis’ stats from his best injury-free season.

Ok, more stats: Jordan’s best all-around season stat wise was 35 points, 8 boards, and 8 assists a game.  I don’t think that LeBron gets that this year.  Call me crazy.  So maybe 2014-2015 LeBron is somewhere between Peak Jordan and Nearly Done Jordan.

I think LeBron is past the point in his career where he "gets better".  I think he is on the decline.  Using the looks test and taking his stats into account, too.

He needs to model his game after Magic Johnson in his brief comeback as a power forward in 1996.  But with better defense and athleticism of course.

LeBron is in his 12th season:

Other players stats from their 12th season:

Elgin Baylor: 24.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.

Oscar Robertson: 17.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 7.7 assists.

    Larry Bird: 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.7 steals, 0.9 blocks.

    Dominique Wilkins: 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.4 blocks.

    Julius Erving: 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.9 blocks.

    Rick Barry: 23.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.9 steals, 0.5 blocks.

Guys can’t play forever.  Even Hall of Famers.

LeBron’s stat line so far of 23.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.3 blocks is closest to Rick Barry.

Oh c’non all those players played in the 80’s sports science and body preparation has grown leaps and bounds since then. Look what a modern player like Kobe did in his 12tb season 28-5-6 lebron will be just fine.

do people not realize you can take any four game stretch of any team from any point of the season and make them look like the worst or best team? Although Cleveland really needs to impliment Alex Kirk if they’re going to win…….

The statistical significance of 4 games over an 82 game season isn’t 100% but it isn’t 0% either. I bet it is somewhere north of 50%.

Closer to 5% actually.  I don’t know how you came up with 50% but it makes no sense.

Brandan Wright is shooting almost 90% from the field this season! Is he better than Wilt Chamberlain? Or somewhere in between Chamberlain’s prime and Shaq’s prime?

    ^^^

Was Wilt on steriods?  Or Shaq?

Shaq’s 2000 and 2001 Finals stats measure up well with anyone in Finals history.  Even with Wilt.  Or, better than Wilt.  I would put those two guys in the same category.  Now if another 7 foot 300 pound athletic center comes along and averages 35 points and 25 rebounds to go along with a few blocks and assists a game (prime Wilt numbers) then I would DEFINITELY take notice.  Skeptics would then tell me, wait Mr. Fantasy Basketball can’t be the next Wilt — he doesn’t have Wilt’s FINGER ROLL.

I watched Brandan Wright play in a high school quarterfinals game in Nashville.  Reminded me of what it probably looked like watching Wilt Chamberlain battle 6’6 Polish power forwards.

Wilt was also 7’1 in the pros.  Wright is probably listed generously at 6’10.

I am sure that Brandan "Mister" Wright would have held his own in the late 1950’s.

With Wright shooting a Wilt-esque 90% is he also averaging a Wilt-esque 35 points and 25 rebounds?  If so, I would say that that would be statistically significant.

If not, then I would say that this year’s version of Brandan Knight could give former FG% god Vintage Mark West a run for his money.
