SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The NBA committee deciding whether the Sacramento Kings should be sold and relocated to Seattle will hold a meeting via conference call Monday.

An NBA spokesman confirmed Thursday that the committee, consisting of 12 league owners, will convene on a call instead of in person. Whenever the committee issues a recommendation, NBA owners will have at least seven business days to review the report before a vote can take place.

The Maloof family has had an agreement since January to sell a 65 percent controlling interest in the Kings to a Seattle group led by hedge-fund manager Chris Hansen. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson has helped put together a competing counteroffer complete with a new arena plan and an ownership group headed by software tycoon Vivek Ranadive.

So we could have until May 8th to know the final decision regarding the Kings sale. So what do you all think will happen...will they stay or will they go?

I would like to see them in

I would like to see them in Seattle honestly, but I could see it going either way. The Sacramento Mayor is doing everything he can to keep them there so I give him props for that. I also love the proposed new arena in seattle: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jFe4OVuCXZo

I've been saying I thought

I've been saying I thought they were going to stay in Sac since day 1 of the reports of the sale to Seattle, so I have to stick with it. I'm about 80% sure they are staying.

Cant we just fast forward a week or so...

I get the feeling that the committee will advise the owners to ok the sale to Seattle, whether or not they listen I think could go either way atm.

Team is gonna go to the

Team is gonna go to the highest bidder, and a group led by a retired hedge fund manager and a microsoft executive will be able to outbid anybody. The idea that the Kings would stay in sacramento was just posturing, the same way the Sonics leaving seattle was drawn out over several months. Bummed for the Sacto fans, but it will be so darn awesome to have a team to root for again. A part of my soul has been missing. I hope they dismantle every piece of that roster and start from scratch. I dont even care if we have a Bobcats-esque record next year. I hope Cousins, Evans and Thornton are all shipped out for picks and cap room.

Seattle has no obligations

Seattle has no obligations under Paragraph 6, it says simply that the Thunder can't use the Supersonics name, history, or color after moving. It allows the city of Seattle to retain all rights to the name and logo not the other way around.

http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2013/4/24/4261988/sacramento-kings-downtow... New renderings of the SAC arena. This is going right down to the wire folks. Both cities have made very clear and justifiable cases to the BOG. I won't be surprised either way, but as a long time Kings fan it'll be nice to finally have some closure. GO KINGS!

Sonics

Clay Bennetts main complaint while in Seattle was the city not wanting to Renovate Key Arena, as part of the "Penalty" that he had to pay to Seattle to move HIS team, he specifically wrote into the contract that he would still own the Name, Colors Logo etc:... but make them available. as long as any team moving to Seattle,(or a expansion team within 5 years) had to play in a Renovated Key arena. (karma)
Key arena has not been renovated to the nba Standards, it is now at his discretion if he will allow the city to use HIS Sonics name, I hope he asks for the same amount of money that they Stole from him when he took his team and went home!

wow. Really classy bro. You

wow. Really classy bro. You inherited two top ten NBA players including a transcendent hall of famer and will probably own the Western Conference for the next decade, after carpetbagging a beloved NBA franchise with tons of history and giving it a corny, stupid name and moving it to a dustbowl city in the middle of nowhere. You have nothing to act bitter about. You should be ashamed of yourself by acting like somehow Clay Bennett is getting a raw deal in any of this.

Seattle

I am hoping Seattle gets a new team... this discussion only makes sense if the sell happens. I will start a new thread if it does..
