Here are my predictions as far as commitments go for the top 15 of 2012 (btw the top 15 is in my opinion after looking at both ESPN and SCOUT’s rankings)

*Isaiah Austin (Baylor) and Cameron Ridley (Texas) are not included because they have already committed

    1) Andre Drummond, 6’10” 260, C -Uconn

    2) Shabazz Muhammad, 6’5” 207, SG- Kentucky

    3) Mitch McGary, 6’10” 245, PF- Indiana

    4) DaJuan Coleman, 6’9” 280, PF- Syracuse

    5) Kaleb Tarczewski, 7’0” 220, C- North Carolina

    6) Brandon Ashley, 6’9” 210, PF- Arizona

    7) Ricardo Ledo, 6’6” 175, SG- Providence

    8) Rodney Purvis, 6’4” 185, SG- NC State

    9) Archie Goodwin, 6’4” 175, SG- Arkansas

    10) Kyle Anderson, 6’7” 215, SF- St. John’s

    11) Alex Poythress, 6’7” 210, SF- Florida

    12) Amile Jefferson, 6’7 185, SF- Villanova

    13) Gary Harris, 6’4” 180, SG- Indiana

    14) Robert Carter, 6’9” 250, PF- Georgia

    15) Perry Ellis, 6’8” 221, PF- Kansas

I dont think Ledo is going to go to Providence because Cooley is not going to let him get away with anything. I’ll say he goes to Kentucky

Indiana dosent have enough schollies available for McGary and Harris…n they kinds cooled off at going after McGary, but it seems almost certain that Gary Harris will be a Hoosier

     1) Andre Drummond, 6’10” 260, C -NBA (Word is that coaches have stopped trying to recruit him. That could just be because he said he would make his decision on his own time, and that he is a lock for UCONN, but I feel he really will enter the draft. Just started getting this feeling a little while ago, felt like he would go to college when I wrote my article about his situation, but I feel he is NBA bound and odds on favorite for the first pick in the draft.)

    2) Shabazz Muhammad, 6’5” 207, SG- Kentucky (Tough to say, UCLA has always been a favorite, but Kentucky seems to be coming on strong. Word is that UNLV is a sleeper, but I think Calipari ends up getting Shabazz, who will make a huge impact in his freshman year. Arizona also is in the mix.)

    3) Mitch McGary, 6’10” 245, PF-Maryland (Hear they have done a great job recruiting him, see him being a Terp.)

    4) DaJuan Coleman, 6’9” 280, PF- Syracuse (Cuse has always been the odds on favorite for him, hearing Kentucky is coming on strong, though.)

    5) Kaleb Tarczewski, 7’0” 220, C- North Carolina (Agree on this one, he will be a nice replacement for Tyler Zeller.)

    6) Brandon Ashley, 6’9” 210, PF- Oregon (A man can dream! LOL. You know what? I am hearing he REALLY wants to go to the NBA ASAP, and Oregon would be a great place to do it. Plus, Zona’s front court is loaded, he would start, but with Grant Jerrett already committed, not to mention Angelo Chol and Sidiki Johnson there already, I do not think he is at all a lock for Zona. Could still go there, but I am not a huge fan of the fit.)

    7) Ricardo Ledo, 6’6” 175, SG-UCONN (I know he WAS committed to Providence, but I think he could definitely be a nice player to take over for Jeremy Lamb. Providence may still be a favorite, but de-committing usually means you are looking for other options)

    8) Rodney Purvis, 6’4” 185, SG- Duke (Do not want it to happen, but I think it might. I know NC State and Mizzou are in good position with him as well, but I think he is going to play for Coach K.)

    9) Archie Goodwin, 6’4” 175, SG- Louisville (I know Kentucky has been rumored to be a favorite as well, but I think he could be a big time scorer for Pitino. Believe that he might be to big time to keep in Arkansas, though the Razorbacks seem to be in there.)

    10) Kyle Anderson, 6’7” 215, SF- St. John’s (Hearing Lavin is in fantastic position with him, especially since he more than likely would let Anderson run the point. Would be by far the biggest recruit Lavin has gotten at St. John’s thus far, and could take St. John’s from being a strong team to a title contender.)

    11) Alex Poythress, 6’7” 210, SF-Tennessee (Think that Poythress is staying near home, either going to Tennessee or Memphis.)

    12) Amile Jefferson, 6’7 185, SF- Villanova (Villanova already has a fantastic 3 person class, and I think Jefferson more than likely makes them close to the deepest recruiting haul in 2012)

    13) Gary Harris, 6’4” 180, SG- Michigan State (Indiana has the home state advantage, but I could easily see him being lured to Spartan country by Tom Izzo.)

    14) Robert Carter, 6’9” 250, PF- Kentucky (I have a really hard time believing Calipari gets shut-out with all of these top big men. I am not a huge Carter fan, think there are a bunch of better bigs in this class, but by process of elimination, I say he is the one Cal gets.)

    15) Perry Ellis, 6’8 221 (More than that, I would think), PF-Kansas (Hearing that Duke is in the picture as well, but I always pictured Ellis staying home. Really like Perry, feel he is going to be a solid college player.)

    A few others:

Shaquille Cleare-Maryland (Hearing they are in great position for him, he and McGary would be a monster front court)

Jarnell Stokes-Memphis (Bet Pastner gets him, would not be surprised if he gets Poythress, but I am just guessing they go to different schools. Played really well as teammates in AAU, though, so I could see them being a package.)

Marcus Smart-Baylor (He is relentless, more than likely plays a few years, would be a huge grab for Baylor, once again)

D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera-UCLA (He is from Indiana, but I hear that UCLA is in really good position with him)

Tony Parker-Duke (Ohio State and home town schools in Georgia have a chance, but I bet he is a Blue Devil.)

Anthony Bennett-Kentucky (I have had a feeling on this for a while. Think that Calipari woos him to UK.)

TJ Warren-Kentucky (I know they are not on his list right now, still think that once Coach Cal offers you, one can be quickly swayed.)

Devonta Pollard-Missippi State (Think this is a kid who will stay home.)

Jerami Grant-Maryland (Rounds out a fantastic incoming front court for the Terps)

Elijah Macon-Ohio State (Thad Matta will land some big name.)

Rosco Allen-North Carolina (Just have heard a lot about him being linked to UNC.)

Willie Cauley-Kansas State (Have a feeling)

    Joel James-Florida (Stays home)

Robert Upshaw-USC (Believe O’Neill is in good position with him.)

Landen Lucas-Oregon (Is as close to a must get as we have, he would be a big grab for Altman. If we could get these two front court recruits, we will be in fantastic shape)

In conclusion, I am sure many of these are wrong as hell, but I am willing to see how it goes.

I would be shocked if DaJuan Coleman didn’t end up at Cuse, same high school as Rautins and Triche.

How about Kris Dunn? He is pretty highly ranked and I hear its pretty much between UConn and Providence but Marquette has an outside shot.

I think Maryland is the favorite to land McGary. Saw this on Twitter a few minutes ago.

@YaBoyRuss had a short chat with Mitch after his first game

“Just finished watching McGary and his SYF team. The kid’s motor never stops. Not on offense, not on defense, dives for loose balls. He just goes all out. Great passer for his position. He told me after the game that he likes Maryland alot. Loves coach Bino said “he’s crazy” likes Coach Turgeon."

As a Maryland fan, the last 2 sentences brought a smile to my face lol
