College hoops is looming and it’s being reported that Theo Pinson, the presumed starting shooting guard for UNC is out indefinetly with a broken foot. Tough break for my Tar Heels and severe blow to any hopes for Carolina to have another deep tourney run. UNC is currently ranked #6. With a healthy team I was really confident they could contend with the likes of Duke.

Joel Berry is very tough, love his game!! Tough loss for UNC they’re pretty deep outside of the SG position but should be ok..this  gives Seventh Woods some more opportunities to play, I’ll be surprised to see how his development comes along, Woods is a great athlete but needs to learn the game more especially in the ACC where guys athleticism is on par..

Yup, tough break for Theo.  Carolina has other options at SG though.  One guy to keep an eye on this year might be Kenny Williams.  He was a fringe top 100 guy who originally committed to Shaka Smart and VCU.  When Shaka left for Texas, he flipped to Carolina.  Although he was considered a great shooter, he was 1-13 on threes in limited minutes last year.  I think he will start at the 2 for Roy.   Seventh Woods and Brandon Robinson will also get more minutes with Theo being out.  Roy coulI think Joel Berry will be a huge key for Carolina this year.  He was in many ways Carolina’s best player last year.  He is tough as nails, quick and a good shooter.  I heard he was absolutely beasting over the offseason.  Duke is getting all the hype with all their blue chip recruits and rightfully so.  Remember Harry Giles isn’t fully health with his knee.  I think a motiviated Carolina team after their heartbreaking loss to Nova in the national championship game can go toe to toe with Duke this year.

I’m pretty curious to see how Seventh Woods plays, he’s one of those guys we’ve been hearing about for years but hasn’t quite lived up to the hype (ala Malik Newman).

Honestly,I’ve really lost track of college hoops since the Towns/Okafor season, none of the young prospects last year really grabbed me and Simmons’ LSU was too hard to watch.

Might tune in to a Kansas game or two to see if Jackson is the "better Wiggins" people have been hyping him up as.

    While we talkin ACC.

Dejan Vasiljevic, Miami Freshman is being slept on.

People dont take a lot of things I say very seriously. But this is one guy who has JJ Reddick upside. Hes had a lot of high level training pretty much his whole career. He wont be unprepared as hes played internationally and against semi pro men.

Hes the best pure shooter to come out of Australia since Patty Mills. Marco Bellineli is my comparison.

Hes not going to be an NBA Starter…but lights-out shooting off the bench always has value.

Hes my tip for ACC freshman of the Year.

I remember you posting about this kid a year ago, hes a pretty good shooter but will certainly not be anything close to JJ Redick.. Hes a bit heavy footed and will have trouble keeping up with the guards in the ACC..
