college breakout

which college player do u think will have a breakout year? going from undrafted to the first round like wesley johnson did last year. i think jon shurna from northwestern might have a chance to slip into late first round if he has a good season. also kim english has first round talent and im hoping he will show it this season.

cory fisher

look for cory fisher to help his draft stock tremendously this season for villanova. with scotty reynolds gone he will be the go to guy on the team and he definitely has the talent to produce. Also you may again see syracuse play a role in that type of breakout season with scoop jardin. He gave them good minutes as a 5th starter or 6th man last year and I feel that this season he may explode onto the scene.

plumlee will have much bigger roles and should put up good stats. just not enough shots to go around too many options

If the Mountaineers are going

If the Mountaineers are going to be relevant, Kevin Jones will have to be big...

wvu

jones will be big, but mazzula will also have a big impact on the team. The big men are also going to play a huge role in the offense. Deniz and Dan jennings are going to be much improved and as a student at wvu I am excited for basketball season

WVU

Right.. But, this thread wasnt about having a good impact on WVU.. It was about guys pushing themselves into the first round..

Mazzula will never be a player in the NBA.. Doesnt have the skills to match the work ethic that he has..
Kilicli wont be in the NBA unless he gets alot better.. Right now he has no IQ and cant do anything outside of 5 feet..
Jennings is probably another guy that isnt going to the NBA.. I guess he could be Joel Anthony...

Then, guys you didnt mention...

Bryant is a 6'1 SG that doesnt have the speed to play in the league..
Mitchell is a better player than he showed last year but it would be a stretch for him to be in the NBA..
Flowers would have to go crazy, which wont happen..
Pepper may play in the league one day but for now, he is a borderline starter/6th man for WVU..
Cam.. Well you go to school there, you know...

None of the freshmen are even going to be relevant as far as the NBA goes this year.. Probably only 2 of them will even crack the rotation..

Dont go trying to educate me on WVU my man.. You may go to school there but I am connected...

deniz

deniz will definitely play in the NBA at some point. He missed the first 20 games and still had a major impact last year. imagine what a summer full of playing and practicing all fall can do, and jennings also will be more mature and even stronger than before, you didnt need to name the rest of the players for me i know who they are and also i was not trying to educate you on the team, I was simply just stating my opinion on the other players who will be important.

Tyler Honeycutt is really

Tyler Honeycutt is really starting to shine and showed it this summer
Kalin Lucas is gonna have a great year coming off an injury
Robbie Hummel is gonna come back strong from his injury
Jajuan Johnson has shown me this summer that he can be a really productive player, this year he will be very consistent
Wesley Witherspoon will show he is a lottery pick to everyone this year, very talented player

What makes you think that

What makes you think that Deniz will be in the NBA?? He doesnt have any athletic ability to speak of.. He cant shoot.. He also is shorter than Ebanks, who is listed at 6'9.. That means that Deniz is around 6'7.. He has a good back to the basket game but he is by no means a lock for the NBA..

Jennings has always been dumb.. He was in HS and will be in college.. Huggins is very good at hiding players weaknesses and showing their strengths but even he will struggle to hide the lack of general basketball IQ...

Like I said, I guess he could be Joel Anthony who is a small C who should be a PF but has zero IQ so he has to play C..

Jeff Withey, you can't teach

Jeff Withey, you can't teach 7 feet and a fluid athlete, I'm looking for him to have a breakout year. He'll probably be a 12 prospect, but a lot more people will know who he is and I bet he'll be a 2012 projected lottery pick by the end of the year.

really?

deniz does have athletic ability.... have you seen him play?

jennings may be dumb but you can learn basketball and you can become better at all that stuff.

huggins is a solid coach who gets his players ready to play.

Deiz is slow, short for his

Deiz is slow, short for his position, and cannot jump at all..

SOME people can learn basketball.. The list of guys that have never gotten is way to long for anyone to even attempt to come up with..

Huggins is one of the top 5 coaches in the nation right now...
