if a coach is fired?, does he still get paid by the Team?, because its a contract, so like if a player is amnestied, he gets cut from the team but still get paid due to the contract, like what Arenas is now, he is still recieving money from his original contract,

and coaches salary have a cap?

    Doc Rivers (Celtics): $7 million

    Mike D’Antoni (Knicks-resigned): $6 million

    Gregg Popovich (Spurs): $6 million

Nate McMillan (Trail Blazers): $5.5 million

    Rick Adelman (Timberwolves): $5 million

    Flip Saunders (Wizards-fired): $4.8 million

    Rick Carlisle (Mavericks): $4.5 million

    Mike Brown (Lakers): $4.5 million

Stan Van Gundy (Magic): $4.5 million

well stan van Gundy was fired, so does he still recieves it?

and how much does a General Manager recieves?

    its crazy money

I think its crazy how little coaches are paid relative to some players. Doc Rivers is getting paid less than Jeff Green… Who do you think is more valuable to the organisation?

how many players can have a playing career last as long as Jerry Sloans coaching career? The top coaches can collect over multiple decades.

Then again, coaches have a lot less job security than NBA players, and there are only 30 head coaching positions available in the NBA.

It all depends on the wording in the contract, but usually the coaches get paid what they are owed.  Some, however, have clauses in their contract that says if they take another nba job then the old team is off the hook. I know that’s why Avery Johnson did tv for two years between Dallas and NJ
