Anyone here remember Eric Boateng?  He was the #3 center comeing out of high school in 2005 behind Andrew Bynum and Amir Johnson.  He went to Duke, and then transferred to Arizona State where he finished up his college career in 2010.  He went undrafted, but was invited to the Knicks summer team and played well enough to get signed by the Nuggets.  Ultimately the Nuggets cut him before the first regular season game and Eric Boateng has never played in an NBA game.

I was recently reading a quote about a high school recruit who said that coach K has really developed big men, and I had to laugh.  K hasn’t developed any big man that I can remember.  He is a fantastic coach, but developing big men has never been his strength.  Jahlil Okafor would have been a one and done at any program in the country.  In fact, that he was drafted #3 is a testament to the fact that coach K simply is terrible at developing big men.

Anyone want to disagree, please chime in.  But give concrete examples please.

Coach seems to me has more of a perimeter focused style and loves to control the game with great guard play.

As far as big men at Duke I can only remeber Plumlees, Brand, Boozer and Okafor. Only one where you can give him creditor for developing is Mason and Miles so far.

I agree with your point lool he should not be seen has a big man developer.
