3 No Biases 3Participant4 Elite 8’s, 3 Final Fours, and 1 title (so far) in 5 years at UK. All with freshman dominated teams. His worst team was a 20 win team that was a key injury away from a tourney appearance after they completely overhauled their roster. So much for not being able to sustain some sort of consistent success..
He’s not the "x’s and o’s" guy that say Tom Izzo or Coach K is, but I wouldn’t want anyone else coaching my favorite team. Unlike other coaches who persuade their players to stay in school, he encourages his to chase their dreams regardless if next years team would benefit from them staying or not. People can say he cheats or whatever but honestly I would be throwing money at UK to recruit me if I was a top prospect.

samosasParticipantIt’s ridiculous when peolpe say, and by people I mean ignorant fans, that Kentucky pays players. Things change, but right now UK is it for exposure. You get drafted higher than you should because you went to Kentucky. Right or wrong, that’s how it is. Doesn’t it stand to reason that it makes LESS sense for a top recruit to go somewhere else? Like Mark Gottfried at NC State. Dude’s got no pedigree of putting people in the league, and he got some five stars to go there. Why would you risk it and not go with the proven track record? It’s a business decisions, the business just happens to be basketball.
