Clips/Celts trade goes dead

apparently the trade talk is over that wouldve sent doc rivers and KG to the Clips. The Clippers are not willing to part w Deandre Jordan and two future picks. THIS IS NUTS, IMO. They Clips were even going to be able to hang on the Bledsoe. I'm shocked that Boston wanted to this for one, but I Can't believe the Clippers didnt pull the trigger on that deal. ive been under the impression that the celtics wanted Bledsoe,Jordan, and a pick. I think the clippers need to call danny ainge back and do it. If i was a celtics fan and thats all we got???? Deandre Jordan for KG and Doc............i'd be pretty upset

i just dont think it's a bad

i just dont think it's a bad trade at all from the clips standpoint. IF they REALLY wanted Doc Rivers as BAD as was being reported and a player like KG ( who is old and abt to retire) and all you gotta give up is Deandre Jordan and a future pick.......then BAM id do it. The clips are trying to win NOW not Jordan is a nice young player but KG can contribute more at this time, plus they already have blake griffin. When you play griffin and Jordan together your handicapped offensively. im just saying if giving up Deandre Jordan is what ya gotta do to get a great coach and a player like KG a veteran who is a great leader you do it. this can convince CP3 to stay and you still hold on to Bledsoe to come off the bench or to trade later. CP3/griffen/KG and all the good role players coached by Doc Rivers, i think theyd be serious contenders

Bledsoe,Jordan

And the picks. That would be my final offer. C's give up there franchise and whole team identity in that deal. Compensation has to be big. I would have said Blake Griffin and your two picks.

I don't know about that.

I don't know about that. Garnett will retire after next season so instead of getting anything, he's going to leave Boston for free.

The Celtics really have no leverage in this deal to get both Bledsoe and Jordan. Much less Blake Griffin because of the fact that KG is 37, they just lost in the 1st round, and it's clear the team has no identity when Rondo is out. KG is also on the verge of retiring.

Come on mannnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Not a good deal for LA! The Celtics are known for giving a team a &$#%#[email protected]! deal. KG is way out of his prime there is no doubt that he still can play. He is pretty much Shaq in Phoenix if he was to go to LA. There a up-tempo team and KG is Half court offense at his age. No way plus they wanted two first round picks from LA. Seems like The C's should have been giving away two picks for a aging KG and a coach who doesn't want to be there in the first place.

With Duncan and KG you never know what you're getting

But most of the Time you're getting Good Production and even at 37 he's still a top 10 player at his position and arguably one of the most Important players in the league on both ends of the floor...

My problem with trading for KG is that is such a risky move for a short term success, which isn't at all even guaranteed...

Letting go Bledsoe and/or DJ for KG makes sense on paper, KG is better than both guys and could be a missing piece to a Championship in the right situation(OKC for example)

The problem is KG's age and Bledsoe's potential/Jordan's age in comparison to KG...Bledsoe and Jordan can still grow up with Blake Griffin, long after KG and Paul retire the trio of Blake/EB and DJ will be playing in the NBA, do you make an all or nothing trade for KG...

OKC I could see doing it and not being to burned if KG retires next year

Lamb, Jones III and the 12th pick in this draft for Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee, maybe the Thunder amnesty Perkins now that KG is on board at Pf/C next to Ibaka

C's were asking for just a tad too much for 37yr old KG, great coach. Imagine Doc in LA though with CP3, Griffin, KG. Doc automatically legitimizes them in the West. I know Clips does not want to get rid of Bledsoe just yet incase CP3 walks but cmon Clips!! GET DOC AND KG!!!

Jordan is overrated

Overpaid. Clips have no leverage either. They need to keep Paul happy. They want Doc. C's have the leverage so what are you talking about? Give up Bledsoe so the C's have a peice to trade. Jordan is trully not worth his pay check.

I don't understand why the

I don't understand why the Clippers wouldn't do this trade if it was just Jordan and the two picks. Jordan is over paid and doesn't even play in the closing minutes of games. Having DJ out there doesn't really do much for Blake because he clogs the paint, and forces Blake to put the ball on the floor more than he should. If they made that trade they would 1.) Solve some of their spacing problems 2.) Assuredly keep CP3; and 3.) FINALLY PLAY A HALF COURT GAME!

This last point is the reason why I would do this trade. While CP3 is a good uptempo player, I feel like his skills are more suited for the slower side of the offense, especially at this current stage of his career. Kg would allow them to continue their fast style of play, but also would give them a weapon when the game is slowing down, all while being the anchor for the defense. Honestly, I would do this trade just so KG could be around and mentor Blake Griffen. Getting Doc would be icing on the cake. I think the only thing stopping this from actually happening is CP3's commitment. If he leaves, they are a lottery team, so I understand not doing any trades before you get his subscription.
