Clippers vs Lakers

Clippers lead 27-22 at the end of the first. Both teams opened the first quarter great.

Gordon matched Kobe in the first quarter. It looks like both he and Kobe will have big games today. Gordon is an underrated defender.

Griffin looks like he's going to struggle vs the length of the Lakers. The Lakers size/length advantage is overwhelming at times. Probably Griffin's weakest first quarter of the season.

It's time for people to start acknowledging that DeAndre Jordan has improved. He had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block in the first. He just needs to hold the ball high and stop bringing it low where guards can strip him.

Lakers lead 45-44 at the

Lakers lead 45-44 at the half.

They've taken away what the Clippers love to do most... Run and be exciting. The Lakers have turned this into a slow, messy and half-court game. They've really neutralized the Clippers athleticism with their length on the defensive end and by not allowing them to get in the open court.

Griffin had his worst first half of the season only scoring 2 points on 1-6 FG and grabbing 5 rebounds. He also has three fouls. Not only is his streak of consecutive games of 20 and 10 at stake, his double double streak is at stake. The length of Gasol, Odom and Bynum really hurt the Clippers and should decide this game.

Gordon kept the Clippers in it the first half scoring 13 points and picking up 3 steals. Jordan has 6 points and 11 rebounds. IF he kept the ball high, he'd have a double double at the half. He could learn a lot from Gasol and Bynum. Neither Kobe or Bynum played much in the second quarter. The Lakers are sort of just coasting.

The Clippers need to push the tempo and get out in the open court during the second half, and Griffin needs to get something going if they want to win this game.

I'd take Eric Gordon as my 4th or 5th best SG in the NBA right

now, dude can score, decent defender but I think will end up having a Joe Johnson like career. Great scorer but wont be the guy to push you over the top. LAL just looks bored with themselves. LAC up 6 right now in the 4th

I think LAC will make a push for the 8th

With Denver about to trade Melo, the Suns falling and Memphis not getting better or worse and the Blazers getting hurt left and right I think teams like LAC, GSW and Houston making a push for the 8th seed

Anyone else notice how well

Anyone else notice how well Gordan has been playing over this current streak? He's averaging over 27 points a game on over 50% shooting. Him and Blake are turning into a great one two punch. Hopefully Clipper management doesn't ruin it.

Omg... The refs were terrible

Omg... The refs were terrible this game. They just ejected Griffin when he didn't even do anything. Odom grabbed his jersey and Griffin just walked away. They also ejected Odom, Davis and Artest. Odom is the only one who should've been ejected... He started it because he was mad Griffin kicked his ass the second half. Davis and Artest were trying to separate people.

Great win by the Clippers though. This team is growing every game. They took Kobe and the Lakers' run in the third, came from behind in the fourth and won the game.

Gordon outplayed Kobe in the fourth quarter for sure. Gordon made huge baskets. Kobe didn't score other than free-throws awarded to him just because of the name on the back of his jersey. Gordon had him on lock in the fourth.

I have to give Griffin a lot of credit. He played terrible in the first half, but had a VERY good second half. He didn't give up and took it to the bodies of Gasol, Odom and Bynum. He ended the game with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

One HUGE thing stood out in the fourth quarter about Griffin. He had a chance to get fouled and shoot two free-throws to get his 20 points, but he passed the ball. Just says he cares less about statistics and more about winning.

it made no sense griff was

it made no sense griff was ejected. Odom started it but baron should have been ejected too, he was trying to stick up for his teammate and got the whole thing escalated by shoving. ALthough that didnt have any impact on the game it was in the final seconds.

I hate when ppl in the media

I hate when ppl in the media call this a bad team every time I see them play they play hard and step up against the best and have beaten great teams. They could be a dangerous team next year.

And why is the NBA so soft? Everyone was just grabbing each other and thats an ejection? In the NFL there is wayyyyyyyyy more pushing and shoving after the whistle and noone gets ejected smh. Good win for the Clippers though

The Clippers need an upgrade

The Clippers need an upgrade at small forward, but I can't see them taking on the contracts of Melo or Iguodala. Unless it's a Kaman for Prince trade, I don't see anything happening.

And Jordan isn't going anywhere. IF Sterling knows anything, he'll make sure Griffin's best friend returns to the team.

How about this ( I thought

How about this ( I thought about this Melo-Clippers thing alot)

Melo for Kaman, Aminu and the 2012 unprotected pick of Minnesota

then do

Baron Davis for D.J. Augustine, Matt Carroll and Nazr Mohammed

The Clippers would have

Augustine-Gordon-Melo-Griffin-Jordan

@nateoak10 The Clippers have

@nateoak10

The Clippers have a tough Feb. approaching. They basically play every game on the road. Whether or not they'll be able to push for the 8th seed will be determined on this trip.

I can't see the Bobcats

I can't see the Bobcats trading for Davis. MJ is trying to cut salary, not pick more up.

 Great win for the clippers.

 Great win for the clippers. Very impressed by the way Bynum made the pain his domain. Wish he would get the ball more when he's feeling it.    The media call the clippers and other teams bad teams because of there record. It doesn't matter how hard you play or if you beat good teams sometimes if u are a nice amount under .500 hundred you deserve to be called a bad team untill you win more games.  If the clippers continue to play like they have then they won't have to worry about being called that.

Eric gordan won't get gay money because max money will be alot lower next year on top of who the owner is for the clippers.

Matter of fact odom and gasol should have got the ball more because they scored pretty easily down low on the clippers front line.  Was impressed with the defense gasol and odom played on Blake causing him to have a very bad day on offense. But the back court got torched by Eric Gordan and BDiddy

Still think Mayo is better

Still think Mayo is better than Gordon Quincey?

And can Jordan get a little love? 8 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks today.

I remember you used to

I remember you used to criticize Gordon because he didn't take over ball games and took a backseat to veterans. Those are two things that have changed this season... He's the Clippers' go-to player down the stretch of games and he's no longer taking a backseat to anybody. I told you to just give him time.

Bynum played very well, but he was quiet. He didn't get the ball enough. There were a couple of plays he should've went up stronger with the ball in the second half. He got fouled on one play, but there's no way Baron should've been able to block his shot late in the fourth quarter.

And Jordan and Bynum may have been better than Griffin in the first half, but definitely not in the second.

Bynum never gets the ball

Bynum never gets the ball enough, and Pau gasoft gets scared and backs down when his counterparts decide to fight back. I love Gasol, but loath him equally. Now he's going to complain in the media tomorrow about only getting 9 shots. There is no reason whatsoever to only get 9shots as a 7-1 pf being guarded by a 6-9 pf with a 6-11 wingspan. He needs to demand the ball, get deep aggressive position, and scream for the ball. If you see the guardds are begining to freeze you out, go get an offensive rebound. Come on, you got Kobe Bryant, Ron artest, and Derek Fisher out there on your perimeter. With those 3 guys shot selection, the second chance points should be available in abundance.

 the same can be said about

 the same can be said about Jordan on a couple plays. Neither played perfect but I don't recall no one saying what Jordan did wrong or Blake did wrong. Both made many more mistakes then Bynum did. But that wasn't mentioned for some reason.  When I comment about game/player I mention what they did right and wrong not just what they did right even if I am a fan of the player. Blake played better in the second have but his overall offense game was poor tonight.  But that's expected againts the champs.  It didn't matter though since the back court played great.  And point guards block centers from time to time. It happens. Hell spud Webb, Terrell Brandon has blocked shaq david Robinson before.

As far as gordan.  I was 100 percent right when I said ge defered and didn't take over like he should. Yet you and fans kept defending him like I was wrong.  And now he's decided not to defer and you see the results

Gasol did play soft but I'm not worried because he showed in the playoffs that he will bang back. After two regular seasons being inconsistant some nights but ending up with a title I'm not surprises nor upset when they lose because I know there's another level the lakers can go too.   It would be nice if the clippers make the playoffs because they are fun to watch though

Agreed, I'm not worried about playoffs either. Especially if Bynum is healthy. Playoffs are for physical slow paced grind it out basketball, which is perfect for this team. It's just my opinion on THIS game. And these are things Pau has gotten better at, but he did have quite a few moments in the playoffs where he had issues with the physicality, especially against the Celtics who ALWAYS bring it, and have gotten even better inside. 7 games, I say LA takes it, but they will be VERY tough if Pau has games likes tonight. He's got to demand the ball more. Grow a pair and man up. No one is going to be mad if he screams for the ball.

@Quincey Calm down... I did

@Quincey

Calm down... I did say what Jordan did wrong. I said he kept bringing the ball low and getting stripped/losing the ball. I said he could learn a lot from Gasol and Bynum about how to keep the ball high and go straight up.

Griffin's overall game was poor, but he found a way to come through in the second half. That's what great players do. He didn't start strong, but he finished strong... Outplaying the Lakers' bigs down the stretch.

You were right about Gordon his first two years, but I wasn't defending anything. I was saying that he was like 19-20 years old, playing on a strong veteran ball club (B. Davis, R. Davis, M. Camby, C. Kaman, Z. Randolph and C. Mobley) and that you needed to give him time.

Can anyone answer

Can anyone answer this........Why did Blake Griffin get ejected when he did nothing wrong in that situation?

When I sat back & watched he got yanked by Odom & Blake did not react at all, he just brushed it off.

I promise I hate the way the league has been officiating technical fouls & ejections this year. The NBA has officially turned into a p*ssy league for the fact that Stern implemented the new rule.

Griffin and Gordon still have

Griffin and Gordon still have a few years before they are extended.

The Clips will have a lot more money in a few years when Baron Davis is off the books too.

Mello on the Clippers they'd be a great offensive team with him.
