The Clippers Deserve to Win the Lottery; The Wizards are Tankers!

The Clippers deserve to win the lottery over ANY team in the NBA. They have sucked for all 25 years of their existence, except for for 3 seasons when they made the playoffs, only to go to the 3rd round though. The Clippers have been in the lottery 22 of those 25 years! 22! Thats ridiculous. So now u might say, well its there fault for sucking at drafting. Well...even the decent players they draft just leave since the team sucks and they always get screwed in the lottery in good draft years. Also, u might say that the Clips already have a bunch of talent and therefore they don't deserve the top pick, however, the talent they have are a bunch of overpriced, no effort, declining players that all play different styles of basketball and can't gel because of that. The Clippers need to rebuild just as badly as any other team in the league. Another thing, the. If the Clippers got Blake Griffin or Ricky Rubio, then they would have their young core to build around in Griffin/Rubio and Eric Gordon, and possibly Deandre Jordan. That core would turn this franchise around because they are winners who hate losing...unlike the current clippers.

I read other people make comments about why their team deserves to win the lottery and they didn't top the clippers' woes.

The Raptors: U guys won the lottery in 2006. U can't win the lottery twice in 4 years! Cmon, u guys have an all-star pf in bosh (who is just as likely to stay as Griffin is if u guys got him) and good young pg in Calderon (therefore u don't need Rubio. O and why would David Stern give Toronto the top pick, they play in a different country!

The Wizards: (reasoning: Obama could see a better product on the court and they had a bad season) Uhh... The Wizards are already going to get better with Arenas, butler, and Jamison next year + who ever they draft. And Obama doesn't care who the Wiz get, he likes the Bulls, and... the bulls already won last year so...no for both teams.

O and about the Wizards, they are tanking! Here is proof: First, Gilbert Arenas comes back from his injury and gets 15 points and 10 assists in 20 minutes of play (Great stats) against the playoff contending pistons. Then, the Wizards play the Pacers (A beatable opponent) and they sit Arenas to rest his knee. The following game (4 days after the pistons game), he does not play and it is against the Memphis Grizzlies (A terrible team). He now is going to play the Cavs today (the best team in the NBA), 1 day after "not being able to play against the Grizzlies (A team they would have beat with Arenas). The Wiz are selectively picking opponents they will lose to with Arenas to play him in, and sitting him when they play teams that they can beat teams with Arenas. The Clippers tho, just suck with no matter who plays due to awful chemistry and effort (All year long), not just now that they realize they are lottery bound. Also, u may say that the Clippers have been sitting players that are "injured" however, even if turns out they were not injured, they played better without them because the bench players/young guys play A LOT harder than the "stars." The Clippers need a bailout!

Too bad its not dependent on how much a team deserves it

Its simply probability. I've been a huge Bulls fan for my entire life and was ecstatic when we won the lottery last year. But, we shouldn't have. We weren't the worst team in the league-- we just got lucky. I would like to see either the Clips or the Kings win, because both franchises are just in shambles right now. I would prefer the Clips over the Kings, though. But, knowing the lottery system, it'll probably be someone like OKC who clearly has plenty of young talent.

As a Wizards fan, We are not

As a Wizards fan, We are not tanking!!! We just dont play defense and have a third reliable scorer w/o Gilbert Arenas, Plus Gil has been injured the last three seasons, sorry if we are proctecting our $100 MILLION investment. The Clippers do not deserve the first overall pick, they would SCREW IT UP anyway. How long have they been losing again, Look at Portland, they sucked for a while and then in last three drafts they solidfied their roster. Blake Griffin wont solve your problem unless you trade Davis, Camby, Kaman and Randolph and strat over.

uhh, i was suggesting moving

uhh, i was suggesting moving those vets...

Also, how would they screw it up more than any other team. All teams would take griffin and a team could possibly take rubio. They will both be good so...

O and, the clips played EB every game for at least 30 minutes when he came back for the last 9 games of the year coming off an ACL tear.

Hey great call on the Wizards intentionally blowing games, as they just beat the team you deemed the best in the NBA. Stop whining.

im not saying the players

im not saying the players are blowing games (the ones who won today), its the organization. O and the clippers beat the celtics earlier this year, but that does not mean anything. If they win 3 games in a row, i'll be happy to eat crow.

Oklahoma City Thunders potential

I believe that in a few years the Oklahoma City Thunder have the potential to be a dangerous team to reckon with in the West.....with a potential line up that would feature four great young talents Westbrook,Durant,Green, and Blake Griffin(assuming they can get him).....What is this teams potential?....Just want to see some opinions...

the clippers deserve to win the lottery???

The Clippers are one of the worst organizations in sports. They have been terrible for 25 years because of bad decisions and crucial blunders by coaches, the entire front office and ownership. The Clippers don't "deserve" anything. One of the worst run franchises in the history of sports.

Clippers...just horrible

They almost hit it big with Shaun Livingston,he was a big talent. He blew out his knee, which is the most unlucky injury in sports. They pick in the lottery every single year and they STILL haven't had a good team yet, other than a few years back. They dont deserve it.

For the idiot who started

For the person who started the thread, thinking they know what they're talking about with the Wizards when CLEARLY they do not, I've got this to say:

The Wizards are not tanking games. I don't know how a team as good as they are (not saying they're good, but..they're a helluva lot better than the rest of the bottom of the league) can manage to lose so many games, but they do. They're not tanking, however.

Gilbert announced before he even played vs. Detroit that he would only play in select games. He was to play in all (maybe missing one) home-games, and select road games. He selected the Cavaliers as a team he wanted to play against on the road, and one or two other teams which I forget. Not surprisingly, he picked them (as opposed to a team like Memphis or Indiana), because they're really good. Considering how much of a rivalry the Zards happen to have with them as well, it's almost an obligation for Gil to play. He also doesn't want to overdo playing. There were some people advising him not to play in the last few games of the year, and to sit out. But he decided to play spiradically; he picked and choosed the games he wanted to play in, so they're already pre-determined. It has nothing to do with tanking.

As a Wizard, Gilbert knows that a healthy Wizards team can be one to be reckoned with. Not only does he want to prove to himself and to his teammates that injuries are the majority of the reason why this franchise not only couldn't take the next step for a few years, but fell back instead, but he also wants to show the rest of the league what the team can and will be capable of next season, especially if the Wizards get a guy like Griffin, Thabeet or Harden.

The first pick

I hopw the wizards get the first pick. that would be nice. OKC have a PF they need a guys like Thabeet. Clipps are a bad orgiazation. The Kings don't need a Big man. All the team in the bottom 6 of the league don't need a PF. The OKC need a Center. The wiz and the clips have big man that could be tradeable

Someone said that's DJWhite

Someone said that's DJWhite Is a good PF. Tell me one thing, what makes you think that? Dude hasn't logged a minute this year. Please explain your powers of scouting a player who you have never seen in a game.

OKC Thunder are going to win.

Lebron from Cleveland and who got the first pick..Cleveland.

Rose from Chicago and Chicago had a 1% chance of winning and who got the first pick..Chicago.

Blake Griffin from OKC going to be the first pick so I wonder who is going to win the lottery??

1ST Off

Why does everybody that disagrees with something someone posts call the person an idiot??? Let them have an opinion. And 2nd, everybody read the persons comment and dont change the words they say. If I say blowing your knee out is the most UNLUCKY injury in sports, dont reply "I dont know that its the WORST injury, I think its.....blah blah blah." I wrote exactly what I meant.
