Now that i think about it the Clippers were pretty crazy to trade this pick. (it winds up to being a higher pick than there original pic. I know they are high on Bledsoe and Williams But to me I would love to see a nucleus of Jordan, Blake, Aminu (who really had a typical rookie season and will surprise some people) Gordon  and Irving. Then Get positive veterans to surround those youg cats. Williams is twenty eight and he is still good but i don’t feel that he elevates them to that championship level. I would have liked to see them make a OKC or Portland type move down the line if they r really in the Hunt. trade for that missing piece later.

It was a good trade, the traded away at the time the #9 pick in the draft, and in a weak draft like this nobody at #9 would of helped them as their already a young team.

They saved $14mil which they can use on DeAndre Jordan and they got rid of Baron Davis which is always a plus.

You can’t look back and say it was a bad trade, you have to look at it when it actually happened.

I don’t know if it was crazy, I mean they got rid of a horrible contract (B. Diddy) for a solid PG with an expiring contract for a projected lottery pick in a really weak draft. How can they be held accountable for hinging on a like 5% or less chance to get Kyrie? With the 2 draft picks they hold next year, including the T’Wolves probably top 5 pick, I think this year’s pick was expendable. Hindsight is 20/20 homie

Its not as crazy as it seems..If there was a Lebron or John Wall type player in this draft you might say they were insane for getting rid of the pick…Even if guys like Sullinger,Barnes or Perry Jones had came out none of them were a clear cut franchise type player..

Plus they got rid of Baron Davis and his hefty contract,..Davis hasnt been completely healthy in years….And he had burned his bridges with the Clippers….Throwing that pick in was the only way they could get rid of him….

Clipppers dont need any more young players.  They have young players at every position.  This trade gave them money and a veteran point guard that gives them more time for Bledsoe to develop.  I think people forget that just like Irving, Bledsoe is a talent scorer and point guard.  At some point you can’t play all these young players and you need some vets that dont hurt your cap space.
