CavFanPRParticipantWho do you think deserves to make the roster? I really like Jermaine Taylor but with all the wings on the roster, the chances for him are slim. Dellavedova has played well but his defense is not very good. He’s a great floor general though. Henry Sims is a good big and has a shot. Desagana Diop will probably not make the roster but he’s a huge body that could help us right away. He should at least get some consideration, our bigs are injury prone.
What do you guys think?
P.S. – Sorry for the other post, didn’t mean to spark controversy.

TRC1991ParticipantTheir certain 12 should look like so
Kyrie Irving, Jarrett Jack
Dion Waiters, CJ Miles, Sergey Karasev
Earl Clark, Alonzo Gee
Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett
Anderson Varejao, Andrew Bynum, Tyler Zellerand their last 3 will be
PG – Matthew Dellavedova
G/F – Carrick Felix
PF – Kenny Kadjinot making the cut:
C – DeSagana Diop
C – Henry Sims
SG – Jermaine Taylor
SG – Elliot Williamsshould be interesting though

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantMy healthy twelve would be the same as above.
Kyrie Irving, Jarrett Jack
Dion Waiters, CJ Miles, Sergey Karasev
Earl Clark, Alonzo Gee
Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett
Anderson Varejao, Andrew Bynum, Tyler ZellerBynum probably won’t statrt the season on the active roster as he just started to play 3 on 3 this week. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24102916/cavaliers-andrew-bynum-has-resumed-basketball-activities That leaves a spot for somebody and I think it may be Dellavedova depending on how healthy Jarrett Jack is. My guess for the big is Sims, because he has played well in the preseason and Kadji is D League eligible and soft as toilet paper. Jermaine Taylor and Henry Sims both played in the D League last year and can go anywhere if they are cut but Kadji and Dellavedova could go to Canton Cleveland D League affiliate.
I personally would keep Taylor and Sims or Dellavedova and Sims. There is only 2 spots because Carrick was never going to be cut.
Andrew Dellavedova
Dellavedova has outplayed all the other invites and plays as hard as anyone that’s in the NBA already. With that being said if Jack is healthy then 2 of the Cavs best 4 players is a point guard and there will already be times where both Irving and Jack will share the floor because of a minutes crunch at point guard. Either Jack or Irving should be on the floor the entire game without exception. AD’s shot is not where it needs to be but his defense is tough, real tough and he could push both other point guards at practice. He does have a nice floater in the arsenal also and he like Felix are the type of people you want to have in the locker room and organization. Gee made it the same way and stuck around for quite a while.
Carrick Felix
Its already been stated Carrick is headed to Canton to play with the Charge. He hustles but needs work on his shot, if he can 3 and D then he has a long career ahead of his self. He seems like a great all around person. I was not a fan of the pick at first and hated the trade with Portland before it. Its no doubt Glen Rice Jr is better at BASKETBALL than Carrick to me but Carrick is so much better at LIFE that I understand the pick now. He has been banged up and off the court. He would not have beat out Karasev for a 12th man roster spot anyway.
Henry Sims
He has shown flashes of hitting a 15 foot jumper but in his 4 at most minutes he would recieve on the court with Bynum being Bynum and Zeller banged up (hip and Appendectomy) he should never take that shot anyway. He is a “guy” just that a tall guy. He is better in my opinion than Ryan Hollins but I cant think of anyone else in the League who has made a roster being just a tall guy than him. He has consistently gotten twice to three time the minutes Kadji has lately, the same can be said for the Dellavedova vs Taylor match up.
DeSagana Diop
Lasagna Diop is what some local media guys call him and has no chance of making the team. Mike Brown wouldn’t let him play against Hibbert yesterday and all he is a huge dude why not match him against the other huge dude. Can’t believe he made 47 million dollars in the NBA.
Jermaine Taylor
He is one of those guys that just can’t stick on a roster. I really like him though he is athletic and could be a good bench defender and energy guy. He is a 6’4 wing who if he was 6’7 could be a poor mans Demar DeRozan but he is not. I would keep him if he remembers his weaknesses and drive to the basket like he did against Detroit he will be in the League. He has a gunners play ground mentality but you can’t play that way as a 12th man in the League. His shot to make the club is dependent on him being the anti Waiters not the other Waiters. He should force everything in and play tough pesky defense, not take long jumpers and show poor body language. I would keep him on the roster, he could blossom because he will average at least 22 in the D League this year. He took every thing to the hole the other day and looked great doing it then last night against the Pacers it was run outs and long jumpers.
Nobody else has a shot Elliot Williams looks bad as does Micheal Lee and Diop. Kadji has played well in spurts and if he could play center you could have a 3 point threat at center for 45 seconds a game but his shot is off in the preseason so he will be D League or gone all together, nobody is picking him up. Dellavedova had offers overseas so if the Cavs don’t keep him he has offers on the table.
My best guess is Dellavedova and Henry Sims. My preference would be Dellavedova and Taylor. They are great examples for Kyrie and Dion to play hard on defense and will be pissing them off in practice a lot. Plus Zeller and Andy can play 48 minutes of center anyway.

CavFanPRParticipantThanks guys. There was a rumour floating around that Alonzo Gee might get traded before the season starts or even get cut. That would free up another roster spot for one of the invitees. Gee hasn’t looked very good during the summer and Felix is a younger, cheaper version of him. If another roster spot becomes available, I could see Jermaine Taylor making the roster.

Micheal Lee got cut but he never had a chance.
Taylor and Sims could turn down a last 3 spot even if they clear waivers. Dellavedova could go overseas and Kadji would certainly be in the D League if he is kept on 15 man or not. Everybody that watches them play can tell that Sims and Dellavedova are the favorites. Taylor and Kadji don’t play until the fourth quarter.

JoeWolf1I think Dellavedova is damn near a lock. Jack is resting up and should be ready for the season to start, but I think Dellevedova has played well in the interim.
In the 3 pre-season games Jack has sat out Dellavedova stepped in and averaged 4.3 ppg 3 rpg and 6.6 apg to only 2.3 TO per game. He’s a cheap option who can step in, run the pick and roll, and not turn the ball over. I think that is enough at his current price tag, to make Cleveland bring him on for the season.
