SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantCleveland please don’t trade wiggins. I know people are saying Love will be the perfect fit for Lebron. I can’t knock loves game he is a star in the nba. Sure wiggins is young but I am absolutely convinced wiggins is the real deal superstar. Look at the superstars that were drafted number 1 who weren’t playing with lebron. It took KD 2 years to make first team all nba. Wiggins might not be the scorer durant is but he is a freak athlete on both sides of the ball. His parents are both former pro athletes. The cavs will make the conference finals this year atleast with wiggins. In 3 years wiggins will be an absolute beast. If love wants to play with Lebron so bad get him in free agency. Let king James pass the torch to prince wiggs.
DONT DO IT CLEVLAND

R.JLewisParticipantthey need to find a third team in order to prevent wiggins from being traded. cavs will regret trading wiggins in a few years

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantAnother largely overlooked benefit of keeping Wiggins is the cap flexibility it allows Cleveland. They can either trade for a big time piece or sign that piece outright without giving up Wiggins, irving, James or possibly not even Bennett.

BiggysmallsParticipantCleveland isn’t getting Kevin Love without giving up Wiggins. If they are ok with that, the trade won’t happen. If they want Love, more specifically if LeBron wants Love, Cleveland will trade Wiggins.
Cavs fans need to recognize that they aren’t the Lakers. They will need to give up something of value to get the best PF in the league. Waiters, Thompson, and Bennett don’t have the value requisite the best PF in basketball.
It isn’t complicated. You don’t get to sign the best player in the world, get the top prospect in 5 years and trade for the best 4 in the game without giving up anything.

TRC1991ParticipantAnd the thing is – with LeBron having an ETO for his 2nd year, the Cavs front office is under a LOT of pressure to put something together for him ASAP.
I don’t think they can wait until next year and sign Kevin Love as a free agent…I agree with you – the Wolves have leverage here. They can easily pull the trigger on a David Lee/Harrison Barnes deal, but they’re making the Cavs sweat it out.

vulture711ParticipantNot this year but he’ll opt out after the season and Wiggins can develop for a year. I’ll call Minnie’s bluff, go without him this year and sign him in the off season

AusBobParticipantI absolutely agree with SeattleSuperChronics comments. Personally, I hope for Wiggins to stay. Allowing Wiggins to grow next to Lebron for the next 3 years is a scary thought.
From a fan’s point of view, the opportunity is rare and unique. But the NBA is a business after all and Lebron does need a couple more rings to qualify for future GOAT conversations.
May I guess when Lebron signed for CLE, maybe the pitch came with a ‘promise’ type of agreement that the Cavs will make maximum effort to obtain Love and keeping Wiggins would become a Plan B only if Plan Love didnt work out?

NeggedNoelSaricppl fail to realize the wolves don’t have to trade him to the cavs the warriors can make a strong push.
New Orleans can make a push they have no problem giving up future picks lol.
Nuggets can make a push
Detroit can make a push. they can move josh smith for a nice young player and assets and sign and trade Monroe to Minn plus more for love. to pair Drummond and love together they have nothing to lose.
The suns.
what Im saying is playing this game with the cavs might not go as planned what If they get tired of it all what if they get a ridicules offer from a desperate team . what If the cavs say no .
theres a chance they want to keep love and show him we are on the cusp and can turn this around like Portland did for Aldridge. the wolves can make a blockbuster trade for another player they have the assets
bazz, lavine, future picks,Dieng bojan,gentile,gr3 what if they make a move ? for another player
its not guarantee the cavs will get wiggings with that being said if they keep flexibility they can sign him with some maneuvering .

TyroberParticipantI will throw up if the Cavs trade Wiggins. Wiggins next to LeBron will only help reach his potential faster. Love would be a great fit next to LeBron, but I can not imagine how bad the Cavs would be on defense with Love and Irving out there. LeBrons best position is often power forward so is Love going to be this rim protector all of a sudden? The Cavs will be great in 2-3 years and still really good this year.
