BasketBalAllanParticipantWith Rubio hurt and out for a while I was wondering. If Irving had something similar happen and was out for the rest of the season, who would be in the running for ROY? After Irving there is not a player that really stands out in my mind. Sure there are some good rookies but who do you think steps up between guys like Shumpert, Brooks, Thomas, Knight, Williams, Leonard, Walker, and Faried?

JoeWolf1Irving, hands down. Brooks was playing really well before he got hurt, and he hasn’t quite been the same since. I thought Rubio was his only competition, especially with the Wolves finally having the potential to finish over .500.
Irving is a future star, and having a great year. I think it’s his to lose.

river09ParticipantI would love to say williams considering how good he actually is (IMO he’s head shoulders above all these guys), but playing with Love and Beasley PT will always be tough to come by.. Brooks has been scoring all year and gets plenty of PT, no reason for that to slow down..

BasketBalAllanParticipantJoeWolf1: I think you might have misunderstood the "If Irving had something similar happen and was out for the rest of the season". I would love to know who you feel would be the front runner if Irving went down similar to Rubio.

JoeWolf1Ohhhhhhh, gotcha, my vote would go to Marshawn Brooks. He’s going through a bit of a slump, but was putting up over 15 ppg before he went down. Assuming he bouces back, I’ll bet he’d be back up over 15 ppg by the end of the year. He’d get my vote.

omphalosParticipantI think if Beasley get’s traded by the deadline then Williams could explode in the second half of the season. He’s had a strong run lately and could explode with starting minutes.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantEven if Irving doesnt play anymore this season,he has the Rookie Of The Year Award already, becuz he’s been superior any any other rookie…
Rubio was in 2nd,but he everyone expected him to go a triple double run and put him in the conversation for the award, similar to what happen when Grant Hill was ahead and Jason Kidd went on that triple double run after the all star break and they were both co-winners…..
3rd place to me was a tie between Brandon Knight & Marshon Brooks….

aamir543ParticipantYeah, I think that as long as they put him on the ballot, he’ll get enough votes, cause he has really shown that he can score at an elite level. Although it is in their best interest to tank the remainder of the season, and get a pick as high as possible. Irving and Anthony Davis? On the same team? If that happens, Lebron might actually go back in 2014.
