Is Claimed That Greek Adetokoubo Brothers (Giannis And Thanasis) Got Their Passports

The claim is that the applications for the Greek passports for the Adetokoubo brothers was processed and they now have their passports.

This means they can now travel outside the country to play in games in different countries, or in different leagues. It also means that both brothers can now officially be registered with the Greek national team for official tournaments.

Giannis will now be able to play at the Under-20 FIBA European Championship this summer.

There is also word that Greek clubs Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are trying to sign both players, now that they can play games in other countries.

Also, Raptors and Nuggets

Also, Raptors and Nuggets managers went to see him in person.

http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/03/27/greek-freak-610-pg-draws-nba-exe...

Meet Giannis Antetokoumpo, a 6-10 point guard who already has signed to play professionally next season for Zaragoza in Spain.

Yes, a 6-10 point guard, a Greek freak of Nigerian heritage who could end up being a first-round draft pick after putting on quite a show in the Greek national junior tournament attended by Bryan Colangelo of the Toronto Raptors and Masai Ujiri of the Denver Nuggets.

His 20-year-old brother, Thannasis, a 6-foot-7 small forward, also is considered an NBA prospect.

1. He PLAYS AT POINT GUARD ON

1. He PLAYS AT POINT GUARD ON HIS TEAM.

2. He is still growing. He was just 6-6 two years ago, and was measured at 6-9 1/2 just a few months ago and they said "he is still growing".

In fact, plenty of reports in Greece had said he was already at 208 cm which is 6-10.

3. He does not have Nigerian citizenship. He does not have a Nigerian passport. He is not eligible to play with Nigeria's national team. He was not born in Nigeria. He does not and has not lived in Nigeria.

He was born in Greece, lived in Greece his whole life, has Greek citizenship, has a Greek passport, learned to play basketball in Greece, is in Greece's national team program, speaks Greek, etc.

He is Greek person that has Nigerian descent or roots. That is all.

He is far more Greek than Kyrie Irving or Dominique Wilkins or Patrick Ewing is American. He is far more Greek than Tony Parker is French.

Whatever dude, if we want him

Whatever dude, if we want him to play for Nigeria we will sign him up right now, you dont have to be born in Nigeria to be considered Nigerian all you need to have is Nigerian heritage, at the end of the day Nigeria beat Greece so we are a better basketball country than you guys, we can get him if we want, but we have too many players right...If we wanted him he will play for us no questions asked, only reason you guys are getting excited is because he is a basketball star, if he wasnt you wouldnt care if he had a passport or not...

You are a funny guy. Him and

You are a funny guy. Him and his brother already said they don't have any Nigerian passport or citizenship. They also said they will not consider playing for Nigeria's national team.

And you are absolutely CRAZY if you actually believe Nigerian national team is better than Greek national team. I hope to God you are just joking.

They are kids of Nigerian immigrants. Yes. However, they have no Nigerian citizenship or passports. And they actually are NOT eligible for it according to what they said, since their parents are refugees that renounced citizenship.

And you really are something................he is going to play for the JUNIOR national team. The JUNIOR national team, and here you are talking about playing for the senior team and pretending Nigeria is better than Greece in the senior team.

PLEASE just stop.

Dude I never insulted you so

Dude I never insulted you so don't insult me...you can say whatever you want but you guys in Greece never gave a damn about their citizenship until you saw their potential, if we want them we will get them, we can give them a passport right now if we wanted...and as I said we have a talent pool of players to pick from so its not really a big deal, just dont come here and dismiss their Nigerian heritage, they are Nigerian first before anything else, remember the same Nigerian that beat you guys last time....

Just to back up Rotela

Just to back up Rotela renouncing citizenship mean's very little. Nigeria soccer player Victor Moses came to the UK as a refugee and also renounced Nigerian citizenship and played youth soccer for England, but he has now chose to play senior for Nigeria who have re-awarded his citizenship and papers.

Also in all sport's as a long as a person's grandparent or parent has citizenship to a country that player is then eligible for that country. So as long as the Adetunkobo's can prove an immediate relative has Nigerian citizenship they would then be eligible for Nigerian in international sport.

Also please don't come out with the I am racist crap, I know what I am talking about in this area.

No you don't. Because the

No you don't. Because the older brother already stated several times in the media that neither him or his brother would ever consider playing for Nigeria and that simply they won't do it.

I don't know what else he has to say?

It's like someone from Australia saying Kyrie Irving will play for Australia, you know, because he is going to "change his mind". It's some kind of bull&$#%#&@! and you are just trolling.

They are kids of refugees

They are kids of refugees that fled and want nothing to do with Nigerian national team. They both already said they would not accept any offer to play for Nigeria.

How many times does this have to be explained to you?

Yes, of course they are Nigerian's kids.

But they are NOT going to play for Nigeria, they don't want to, and they don't have any intention on getting citizenship or a passport either from what they said. So the fact that you keep insisting they WILL play for Nigeria, or that if they didn't, it was because "Nigeria did not want them", is just nonsense.

Their family fled Nigeria as refugees. They are not interested in playing for Nigeria. I don't know what the issue is or the circumstance or whatever. But there is no logic in you claiming they would play for Nigeria when they already stated they would not accept to play for Nigeria.

There is no argument here, there is just you trying to be a jerk for whatever reason.

"Fled Nigeria" lol you make

"Fled Nigeria" lol you make me laugh, maybe they left for better opportunities, but that family did not flee anything, didn't it state in the draft report that one of their older brother is still a soccer player in Nigeria ? do you know the meaning of fled ?...you just over excited and want to make sure that they play for Greece, I wish them all the best wherever they play, but dont ever knock off their Nigerian heritage, you dont know them personally so stop acting like you do..as long as the opportunity is there, they could decide to play for Nigeria so stop catching feelings...

Their were reports that their

Their were reports that their parents were refugees. That is why they did not have permission to legally enter Nigeria without going to the Nigerian embassy.

I don't know what the story is, but the term refugee is not used for the same manner as immigrant.

To settle this argument we should pick a neutral country to say he is from. From now on we shall refer to him as being from the picturesque oceanic island of Fiji.

You keep going on and on and

You keep going on and on and about one game where Nigeria beat Greece. By one point. Ina game that the refs made 3-4 calls in the last 2-3 minutes that gave Nigeria the win.

In a game where Greece has played with ZERO DAYS of training or preparation time due to the stupid schedule they made when they put the tournament in South America. A team that the players did not even practice.

They had to meet at the airport. A team that did not even have it's freaking coach at the training in South America as he was in freaking Turkey at the time still coaching. The same with several players who were actually playing in Italy...........etc.

You don't mention any of this. You don't mention Greece beat Nigeria just a few days earlier. You mention Nigeria beat Lithuania also under the same types of conditions, but never mention how once Lithuania had time to prepare and practice, they blew Nigeria out at the Olympics.

Look, Nigeria has some good players on their team last summer, and they have some more good players out there available. And there are lots of Nigerian players in NCAA and European leagues. I am not saying anything about Nigeria and never did.

But YOU are going on and on endlessly about it and it sounds racist without a doubt. These other guys are either trolling or they don't know anything about basketball outside USA.

You are not in those categories. Seriously...........you don't actually believe that Nigeria is better than Greece. They won't beat them again probably for another 20 games. Maybe never again. I am not sure why you would keep going on with this "we are better than you", "Nigerians and Africans are better than Greeks", and all these types of comments.

Because no they are not. Nigeria is maybe 1-2 best African team, but they are miles from Greece or any other good European team. Saying Nigeria is better than Greece in basketball is like saying UK is better than USA. It's about that equivalent.

Then you get all pissed off when you find out that some black Greek players that have Nigerian roots would be playing in Greece's youth programs................OK man whatever. You are giving clear as day racist overtones.

What you are saying would be like if I was pissed off and making comments and accusations here at Canada for using GREEK player Kevin Pangos. You know, because he's a GREEK by blood, well actually........it's not even the same, since he had Greek citizenship since birth.

Should I start bashing Canadians here for them using GREEK Pangos in their national team?

What about Seikaly? Should I bash USA or Lebanon or both? Since a GREEK player Rony Seikaly got taken to Lebanon only citizenship because he got born there and then under old laws back then he could not get registered to Greece.

And then he plays for Team USA..............freaking USA. Guy that is raised in Greece, lived in Greece, learns to play basketball there, starts his career there, guy that is Greek, guy that is Greek blood, guy that has said his whole life, "I am a Greek".................playing for Team USA and considered as "Lebanese player".........

Should I be accusing Americans or Lebanese or both here then? Please, just stop. They have the right to ignore Nigerian national team if they want to. Just like Iguodala had the right. They have the right ti play for Nigeria or to ignore it and play for the country they consider "home".

It's their right to choose. So just stop with all this bull&$#%#&@! about the national team. Freaking Hakeem played for damn USA and this guy was raised his whole formative life into adult in Nigeria..........but was playing for USA and guess what? Considers himself "Jordanian".

I guess you should start accusing to the Americans and Jordanians here also.

Greece did not steal these players. They did not ignore them "until they got good", and all this other nonsense. They are simply guys that are eligible to play for Greece and said they want to, and the Greek federation is giving them the chance to do so.

Nothing else here and all this, "they will play for us and not Greece because they are NIGERIANS", "they will play for us because they are not Greeks and they will care about their true Nigerian African roots", "they will play for Nigeria because we are better at basketball than Greece and we own you", "they would not want anything to do with Greece because Nigeria is better than Greece and Greece will never win anything and not even make another Olympics and Nigeria will be 2nd best in the world".................

blah blah blah blah

Then you call me racist? No. Huge racist bull&$#%#&@! coming from half your posts. Either that or you are crazy.
