c.j. leslie, why dropping to 23?

per 40 mins stats

6'9 - 7'2 wingspan 20p - 10r - 1.5a - 2b - 1.5s 52% 60% 29%

regular. 15pts 7rebs 1ast 1stl 1.5blk

combo forward cj leslie is underrated , has potential play the 3 and 4. he's T-rob's height and plays with passion. freak athlete, not afraid of contact, looking to dunk everything inside and dunk it in your face, as opposed to others.

.

this info from an old post of mine where i compared his much similar numbers to pj3's. i think this year he will do a better job on the boards and his stock is gonna rise, he's still under rated.

p.s. now Dx got him as a SF/PF, same thing happened with sullinger as a Pf/C. i said first :)

funny thing when i compared

funny thing when i compared him to pj3 all ppl kept bringing up was how much better pj3's handles were, turns out his handle is too high and he's not a SF. in this video of TWO YEARS AGO, c.j's handles look smoother than any pj3 highlight video i'ver ever seen, including games too

He reminds me of Travis

He reminds me of Travis Outlaw with more talent as a SF. I've wondered why he keeps dropping, because he plays hard and isn't really inconsistent as PJ3. I foget what team NC State played against in Sweet 16, but he kept his team in the game and almost won it for them.

I like watching CJ Leslie

I like watching CJ Leslie just like anyone else because he's a freak athlete. But 23 is understandable because he doesn't have enough weight/strength to play the 4 and he doesn't have much perimeter skills if he wants to switch to the 3.

CJ Leslie skill set and

CJ Leslie skill set and defensive prowess. I would only give him a hard look in the 13 to 23 range. If I was GM, from what he has shown us.

Were 320 days 18 hr 33 min 42 sec from the draft, things are going to change between now and then.

I really think he should

I really think he should operate out on the perimeter more this year.. NC State has tried to keep him in the post too much, his quickness can beat any PF defender off the dribble with ease. If he does get a wing defender on him he can just bury him under the basket.. I hope he doesn't follow the unfortunate path of Hakim Warrick (who he really reminds me of, super athletic/explosive, but lacking perimeter skill) and be stuck without a position. If he can develop the skills to allow him to play both forward spots in the NBA he could be a great pickup for a team.

Leslie is a lock to win

Leslie is a lock to win player of the year, so his stock should go up NC State 40-0

No one is dropping or rising

No one is dropping or rising yet since Scouts haven't talked to anyone about who is going where. Every sites mock draft is based off their own opinion right now

He's a tweener and not just

He's a tweener and not just due to size. He doesn't have the skill level to project as a starting SF right now even though he has the sleek body type and athleticism of a SF. To be a capable big, he's going to have to show more physical toughness.

"combo forward cj leslie is

"combo forward cj leslie is underrated , has potential play the 3 and 4."

He would not be able to play either in the NBA. He cannot shoot or dribble, and makes terrible decisions with the ball when outside the paint. He can't play the 4 in the NBA because he is 6' 8" and not much more than 200 lbs which means he would get eaten alive defensively. Take a look at how Al-Farouq Aminu's career is going. He gets drafted on his physical attributes and then teams quickly realize there is no way to have him help them.

"he's T-rob's height and plays with passion. freak athlete, not afraid of contact, looking to dunk everything inside and dunk it in your face, as opposed to others."

And Thomas Robinson is going to have problems in the NBA because he isn't that big, isn't a particularly good finisher inside, and cannot shoot. Good luck trying to dunk everything at 6' 8" and 200 lbs. in the NBA.

Regardless of what he weighs

Regardless of what he weighs Leslie is a tough cover in the post he is quick like cat and plays a lot stronger than his weight.

Georgia Tech, Duke, Kansas, and Carolina had better interior defenders than a lot of NBA teams and Leslie was able to bang inside and score against NBA caliber defenders.

No. GT, Duke, Kansas, and

No. GT, Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina did not have better interior defenders than a lot of NBA teams.

C.J. Leslie can take those 6-16 shooting performances against Duke where he doesn't make a single shot outside the paint and ride the bench in the NBA. Which Carolina game were you referring to, the one where he couldn't make a jumper or layup (3-12), the one where NC State rallied late to make a blow out look respectable, or the ACC tournament game where he was able to spend the first half getting free on layups and dunks (props to Brown and Johnson for setting him up) the day after John Henson got hurt and then disappeared in the second half when Carolina was more willing to go away from James McAdoo who was playing horribly? Heck, if you want to talk about the Kansas game (7-16), you can also mention that he got blocked by Jeff Withey more times Jared Sullinger and that everything but a turnaround and hook were in the paint and assisted. Every 6' 8" guy in the NBA (exception of Biyombo), NBDL, and in most high level leagues abroad can catch a dump off or alley oop and dunk. Those aren't special skills. Everybody gets a few of those.
