I haven’t heard much on Fair involving his future as a NBA prospect, but he’s someone I feel certainly has an NBA body and game. He’s only a sophomore, great athlete and rebounder, and has a nice jumpshot. Is he someone who could end up being a first rounder?

Not unless he develops a better perimeter game. He’s a feisty player with athleticism and length, and he can certainly develop into a guy who can defend mismatch type SF/PF, and he does rebound well, but he doesn’t have a very good perimeter game for a guy that’s like 6’7 215. Fair is not a good ball-handler right now and I don’t think he will be a very good shooter against NBA players, especially for his size. He’s a nice college role player and he does have time to develop though

    I thought he was 6’9
Cause he reminds me a lot of hakim warrick, maybe not as bouncy but the similarities are there….

i agree.  i think in a couple years he’s going to be a name.  he’s got good size for a sf at 6-8.  there’s no questioning his athleticism.  he just needs to develop his handles and a consistent jump shot.  reminds me of derrick brown with the bobcats.

He’s listed as 6’8 212 pounds. I was going to make a post about him weeks ago, but I never remembered to whenever I logged on.

In my opinion, CJ Fair is the most valuable player off the bench. He’s averaging 8.8 PPG – 5.4 RBG – 1.0 APG. Sure Waiters is good, and some consider him the best NBA prospect, but without Fair, Syracuse would have at least 2 or 3 more losses, maybe even more. The reason I say this is because if you take Dion out of the lineup, you could get his 12 points elsewhere. CJ, however, is averaging 5.4 RPG , which is second only behind Fab Melo’s 5.5 RPG. Syracuse is only averaging 37 boards a game so without CJ that 37 drops down to 32.

I think CJ willl be an interesting player to see develop. His mid range game is almost automatic and he is good at finishing around the rim. He is a true hustle player and never gives up on a play and grabs a good amount of boards. His one weakness is three point shooting. He’s shooting 28% from three. He does play combo forward, and isn’t really expected to shoot a lot of threes (5 for 18.) I think he’ll need to add more range if he wants to play significant minutes in the NBA. As he stands now he is probably a four year player at Cuse and could go anywhere in the 2nd round. I think if he adds more range he could crack the top 20, but it’s hard to project players in the 2014 draft.
