As of October 2009, Taft has been back in school at Pittsburgh hoping to earn his undergraduate degree. Injuries have likely robbed him of the basketball career a player of his talent should have had, but according to the article he’s making the most of it.

Good for Chris Taft. Glad to see he is doing something with his life and knowing that there are more important things to life than basketball.

Good for him. He could’ve been a starter at the NBA if he worked hard. He seemed to be one of the laziest players when he played at Pittsburgh.

That is too bad, player injuries always break your heart. His condition sounds absolutely awful, I can understand why it will be a long road back for him. During his sophomore season I want to say NBAdraft.net had him ranked #1 for a while, and for the longest time I remember he was in the top 5. I am sure the Warriors were thrilled to get him at 42, but it just sounds like he had bad luck. Back pain is one thing I am lucky to not have suffered very much of, and is not a problem for me, but I can only imagine how debilitating it would be for a person. Best of luck to Chris Taft.

Not many players go back to school, it’s always nice to hear when they do. I had high hopes for Taft, it’s a shame he was sidetracked.
