    1. (ORL) Dwight Howard & Ryan Anderson for Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordon (LAC)

This is a crazy idea but it just might work. Orlando would deffinitely do this just so they know they will have great talent for years to come. LAC would hesitate because it is two very important players for them but Dwight is the best big man in the league and him with CP3 could be deadly.

    2. (NYK) Carmelo Anthony for Deron Williams (NJN)

The Knicks are struggling now with Amare and Anthony so change would be good for them. Their offense needs a good PG and Williams is a great fit with Amare. New Jersey is also not doing very good but I could easily see them trading their best player for the guy they wanted in the beginning to build around in Anthony.

    3. (LAL) Pau Gasol & Darius Morris for Kyle Lowry & Luis Scola (HOU)

The Lakers would love this so they could finally get a talented PG along with a good PF to replace Gasol. I do not see Houston doing this though because Lowry is their backbone and him and Scola are much better than Pau.

I read this earlier. What would provoke someone to write this drivel? Chris Broussard deserves a "Billy Madison" moment.

To be quite honest, I dislike the 1st and 3rd trade.

The Clippers should not, and will not trade Blake Griffin.  If they happen to even think about trading him, they would never trade Jordan along with him.  That is the most athletic frontcourt in the league and a top-3 frontcourt in the league with the combination of Butler.

The Pau Gasol trade wouldn’t exactly benefit the Rockets.  We’re riding a 7-game winning streak with Kyle Lowry at the helm.  He has proved that he is the best player on this team and will probably be the best player on this team for a couple of years.  I do agree we need to trade Scola, but acquiring Gasol does neither of three things that are crucial when discussing trades.  1) It doesn’t clear any salary cap for us.  2) It doesn’t make us a championship contender.  3) It doesn’t help us when it comes to rebuilding our team.  Thus making that trade a complete waste of our time.

Derons for Anthony may sound like something that could happen.  Both teams improve in this trade, not to mention, Carmelo stays in New York.  It’s not Manhattan but it’s still New York.

    1. The Clips just wouldn’t do it.  They have a good thing going right now.  Making this trade could be a net gain, but it’s impossible to say and the risk is too great.

    2. No chance.  Right now the Knicks look like a team falling apart.  DWill has made it clear that he is going to play for a winning team.  There is no way DWill would accept an extension from the Knicks in their current form when he’s scheduled to be a FA this summer.  As a result, even if NJ would like the trade, NY would never do it since they’d be trading an all-star under a long-term deal for a one-year loner.

    3. Just too stupid to talk about.  What team would trade their young budding star for a C who’s clearly well beyond his best years?

This deal has no chance of happening, but Deron Williams had NY on his wish list.

you have to remember, these are Chris Broussard’s ideas, he is not saying that these trades will go down or that they have even been discussed.

for ideas there not bad. hearing dwight and cp3 on the same team would make me start drooling if i was a gm. and ryan anderson has played very well this year too. orlando would accept because of griffen. it would be a tough call to make for lac. very intriguing trade though.

deron for melo…with me being as unbiased as possible, this trade can be a win win for both teams. ny gets the pg to run the system with amare. nets get the star to create a foundation of a winning team. def help thier chances for howard. dont know i could accept this if i were the knicks. melo is so clutch and were ganna need that if were in the playoffs.

in the last trade rockets finally get the bigman the coach wants. lakers also get what they need but i think rockets would want a litle bit more.

    interesting trades though…

I read the tittle of Broussard’s article that said, "Griffin for Howard is possible"

Is this a fragment of his imagination, or are his "sources" telling him that this is indeed possible?

THE ONLY ONE THAT IS A BAD TRADE IS THE THIRD ONE. AS THE ROCKETS  ARE GOING NOWHERE

FIRST TRADE WOULD PUT LAC IN WIN-NOW MODE AND IT WOULD LEAVE ORLANDO AS A REBUILDING FRANCHISE, THE SECOND ONE ALSO MAKES A TON OF SENSE.

why do you SHOUT future scout ? we can hear you.

I hate the third trade too : you don’t want to trade an aging gasol to get an aging scola even if you have lowry in the package. Moreover nobody really know what morris could bring to the lakers and what is his value. Let’s wait to judge him.

Orlando should perhaps do what Denver did with Melo and get a deal on the table for Howard to see if he might resign or perhaps look to do a sign and trade on draft day if he does decide to move on.

These are pure fantasy deals but I do like Melo for D-Will, I’d guess that D-Will would at worse opt in as he’d have huge merchandising opportunities in NY.

The Knicks would be an entirely different team with Dwill than Melo. Remember the days of the Suns when they had the best record in the league? Chandler would look amazing with Deron throwing him passes and Amare would become his old self again. The Knicks would definitely do this, but I highly doubt the Nets would right now.

that first trade should happen, i know there’s an emotional attatchment to blake griffin, but any casual observer being honest with themselves knows that dwight howard is a better player … dwight provides, deandre jordan’s rebounding, shot blocking, and combines that with blake griffin’s offense … how do they not win this trade while also picking up ryan anderson? a stretch four who will excel with paul and is an above average rebounder in his own right
