Chris Bosh/Pau Gasol
Everyone is wondering what is going to happen with Chris Bosh just as they were with Pau Gasol...
Pau was 27 in his prime averaging 19PPG 9RPG and 1BPG
Bosh is 27 in his prime and averaging 20PPG 10RPG and 1BPG
Pau's career highs were 20PPG 10RPG AND 2BPG
Bosh's career highs are 24PPG 11RPG AND 1BPG
So Bosh has quite a bit more value also being practically ungaurdable by anyone in the league.
Memphis recieved Javaris Crittenton,Marc Gasol (who I'd much rather have than Bynum), Aaron Mckie,Kwame Brown and two late 1st round draft picks...
If Toronto trades for Bynum you better believe we will also get future draft picks...
This should be an indicator of what Toronto recieves
Agreed. People have to ask remember:
Toronto is looking to move Bosh, Hedo and Calderon.
Bosh will be moved. I say Houston is a darkhorse because they can just ship NY's draft picks in the deal to Toronto as well as Shane Battier, Luis Scola etc
Hedo could be moved but if so, it will be very late in the summer. Hedo is good but he had a terrible season last year. He doesn't have the same value as last summer but someone could look to move a terrible contract for a terrible contract (Dallas could do this in a Dampier- Hedo swap)
Calderon will have some value. He's underrated IMO because he only started 39 games, had a average of 26 mpg and still averaged 5 assists per game. He could still be a solid PG for the next 3 seasons. Teams like NY, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Sacramento should jump at this guy.
there are about 8 teams that can sign bosh outright without giving up anything. Bosh would get a little less money, but i got the feeling he'll end up going to one of those teams becasue they will push the hardest for his services. In that case, toronto might not get anything in return.
There's a big difference though. Pau wasn't a free-agent, while Bosh is. Toronto will be at risk of losing him for nothing, so they won't be able to ask for as much. They'll have some leverage, but not enough leverage to call the shots.
With Gasols trade there was no leverage as well.Nobody in the league had Cap Space besides (I maybe wrong) Charlotte. So only a team willing to break into the luxary tax would trade for Gasol...enter the Lakers.
Also Gasol may have had a no trade contract (once again I am not sure)
actually, any team could have traded for gasol. Cap space had nothing to do with it. When you are over the cap you have to match salaries in the trade just like the lakers did. Any team could have done that and it wouldnt have effected the salary or luxury tax.
Yah good point thats what they did too lol
if a team is at 60 million dollars and over the cap, and they trade away 17 million dollars in salaries and get back 17 million in salary in pau gasol, they are still at 60 million dollars.
umm yeah i like marc but id rather have bynum. better now and more upside. im interested in seeing how bosh is gonna do on a good team though. i think gasol is better though because hes better in the post and better defender
i wouldnt trade pau for bosh. Pau is perfect for the triangle and passes and reads the court well. He blends his ofense in with the whole team concept instead of ust trying to get his. He also plays tougher then people give him credit for contesting shots and grabbing boards like crazy.
h is the most skilled soft big man in the leauge though and thats mostly by choice. i cant count how many times i yell at the tv or at the game when he gets the ball and gets doubled and someone taps his hand or hits the ball out and he loses it then yells at the ref instead of running down court or just doesnt try on defense. im glad hes sooo skilled to make up for the softness he displays sometimes
Bosh and Pau will be one of the greatest frontcourts in NBA history, I think they will be better than Parish and Mchale
Pau isn't soft this is just a big myth created when the Lakers were underman(Bynum, and Ariza) to the deep Celtics in the 08 Finals .
yeah right a myth.. i watch the games and form my own opinion and thats without hearing it from other fans, former nba players and current nba players as well as his own coach. this soft label has been with him even before going to the lakers. its a fact that he sometimes plays soft
Dnyce, you gotta open your eyes and stop being biased man. Gotta get off the Lakers tip.
i agree...i like the lakers just as much as you but im also realistic. gasol is one of if not the most skilled big man int he nba( which duncan getting older) but he is also the softest at times. im probably harder on the lakers then alot of people who dont even like th elakers , while im watching the games
Gasol is not soft, to each his own, he can bang with the big boys and Bosh and Gasol is going to be deadly.
Gasol is Ms. Softee.
Can't wait for NY to add Bosh on the court and Phil Jackson on the bench
Yao and Scola/Battier and Future picks from Ny Knicks For Bosh and Derozen
* J.Oneal or Haywood(Free Agency) Whiteside/Aldrich(With 2010 Lotto Pick, very possible)
In those Rockets/Raptors uniforms already...Yao and Scola Battier make that team playoff contender...AB gets to do what he does best and is surrounded by defensive guys ..maybe this also takes pressure of Calderon and Turk to be better contributors...That Rockets team would be young and exiting and with extra pieces add in year 2 they could become new taem out West...Bosh is the Key...He says yes to Houston then this gets done...the Rockets could trade the Ny picks without risking their own...They'll play for their posistion's in future drafts...but they would have young nucleus built to run and gun...shooters in Brooks and Budginger..and with pick this year possible add a big body to to join core..Whiteside would be dream..or I wonder if Grizzles would take pick for Thabett...What do u think???
