    *CHI gets:
Kendrick Perkins, Jeremy Lamb, and #12 pick + filler (Orton/Liggins)
Bulls get a solid backup center who Thibodeau knows well from his time in BOS, a young SG that fits perfectly with both Rose and Butler for the future, and a good pick to find a shooter or athletic big man (KCP/Tony Snell or Mason Plumlee/Steve Adams), both team needs.

    *OKC gets:
    Luol Deng
This is all contingent on Scott Brooks finally adapting his offense to a small ball philosophy, but this trade would put OKC back in the Finals next year, while Deng, an All Star, would serve as insurance in case Kevin Martin leaves via free agency. *** PG Westbrook SG Sefalosha/Martin SF Deng PF Durant C Ibaka ***

    Thoughts?

    You are a Bulls fan.

You would have to be, because as a Thunder fan, in no way would I be interested in this deal.

Deng is the best player in this trade, but a SF is the last position we need. I highly doubt Presti will be trading away two of his three best assets for a position where he already has the second best player in the world.

I see that in your scenario, you have OKC playing Durant at the 4 which would open the door for Deng, but if we are going to trade, why not just target a C and leave KD and Ibaka where they are?

If I were a Bulls fan, I would love it. They already have Butler to slide into Deng’s place. They get a defensive minded C to play in Thib’s defense, they get a lights out shooter that will compliment D. Rose really well (if he ever comes back), AND the number 12 pick.

The next even trade idea I see on here will be the first.

True I am a Bulls fan, but OKC actually comes out with the better end of the deal.

      Let me get this straight:
OKC Getting a 2x ALL STAR in Deng for
      -Perkins’ bloated contract
-a good but unproven prospect in Lamb
-and a late lotto pick in a weak draft is BAD for them?

As far as OKC finding another C, who do you suggest that would be better than Perkins AND obtainable with their cap situation now? It’s not like teams are beating down OKC’s door to acquire him.

And as any Bulls fan can attest to, Luol Deng is one of the only players in the league that can consistently matchup with LeBron. He’s unselfish, would be insurance in case Martin left and IMHO would be a perfect fit for OKC. I think you have a little too much faith in “Lights Out” Lamb without him actually proving anything in the NBA.

I am a Bulls fan. And you are crazy if you think I would like this deal. We get a defensive minded center? We already have one of those. And we could pick up Perkins after he gets amnestied to be the backup, but honestly, I’d rather take a different veteran to be the backup, preferably one who didn’t have a negative PER in the playoffs.

A lights out shooter to compliment D Rose? You mean the guy that couldn’t see the court over Fisher and Liggins in the playoffs, and a guy that the word out of OKC just has looked terrible in practice all year, and never asserts himself or makes any effort to stand out?

And top that off with the 12th pick in the worst draft of the past 15 years?

No…… I actually would be fine with them looking to shop Deng. Not for this. This is a waste of time and space even suggesting it.

I just don’t see either team agreeing to that trade. OKC needs to find someone willing to take Perkins, true, but why would Chicago be interested when they have Noah+Booz+Gibson? They can find a cheap, young center instead.

It would be nice open up minutes for Butler though, so I see why Deng would be a trade asset over the summer.

Also, Durant at the 4 would be too taxing in the long run. I can see it working out better in the East, but there are quite a few big frontlines in the West that I can’t see Durant and Ibaka guarding for 35-40 minutes a night.

I see no reason for this trade at all. The Bulls need a big man but Perkins isnt that guy. I would just take my chance in this draft and draft a good big man. Theres alot of big man in this draft so losing Deng for Perkins makes no sense to me when you can just draft a center. The thunder needs help at the shooting guard spot but they can just draft K. Pope or Steven Adams if they decide to draft big and the Bulls can get Gorgui Dieng if he drops to them. He’ll be the prefect fit in there system in my opinion.

I don’t see the Bulls shaking up the core until they see what the return of Rose does to the group. As you said, Deng is one of the best players in the league in terms of guarding Lebron. And, to come out of the East, you need to beat Lebron. If I’m the Bulls, I hold on to Deng AND Butler so you have multiple defensive options to throw at Lebron for the foreseeable future.

OKC might be better off trying to pry Granger from IND with some sort of similar package. Indiana has done great with George, Stephenson, and Hibbert being the focal points. Granger might mess up their flow. If they could get a couple of decent pieces for him, I could see them trading him away this year. I’m not saying this WILL happen, but probably more likely than the Bulls letting Deng go.

For 14mil trade exeption which can be used to sign and trade for a shooting guard who can create offense (ex. Mayo) and 19th and second rd picks

Makes no sense. Deng is a natural SF and so is Durant. Never happen.
