Philly offense looking so good right now. I vd been talking about Phillys improved offense since last year and got negged for it. Embiid himself is the reason and the definition of fluid offense.

As soon as they dumped all those wanna be’s like Tony Wroten etc etc. And they signed a bunch of high iq players like TJ Mcconell etc etc and plugged Embiid it was a night and day difference. Their ball movement was like that of a properly ran organization like Heat, Spurs etc etc.

Now onto OP. Ben Simmons and Embiid offensive squemes are so REFRESHING to see!!!! Yes i used capitol and 3 !’s

Refreshing because is not guards shooting 3 bombs if defense goes under the pick. It is something new, like a pick for a player on the low block. Their role switches in the mid-to-low post game has faded away in the midst of this 3pt shooting era.

Is Ben Simmons polished on the post or what? I thought he would get ‘his’ by driving more from the perimeter, but he has been a force on the low block. Lonzo is 6’6 and looked retardly defenseless against Ben’s post up.

Ben Simmons looks hungry to play and angry. I was the first to compare Ben Simmons playstyle to Giannis in this websites, and so far hes been exactly what i said, a lesser athletic and defender while better playmaker than Giannis.

If I’m a sixers fan, I have to be estatic right now. This team is exciting. Embiid is just a flat out star on and off the court and Simmons is a matchup nightmare even without a jump shot  It kind of reminds me of the Orlando magic in the early 90s with shaq and Penny. Saric looks like a very good role player and secondary playmaker and Covington has been an absolute revelation as a 3 and d wing who can guard multiple positions. Fultz hasn’t even really seen the court yet and they are likely to add another lottery pick this offseason. The process is coming to fruition and Sam hinke is looking like a genius.

Ainge was also trying to deal for Big Jah.

Jah is the 4th string center on the Sixers.

went after big jah, cause he showed flashed of being decent , plus embid was off limits.

Boston had a glut of guards and philly had a glut of big men at the time.

trading for Noel,  Embid,  or Jah made sense for both teams

But philly wanted a kings ransom for all three.

now we realize that Noel and Jah were not worth a kings ransom. But Embid surely is

Not sure I would trade Okafor to a contender, especially a top-flight contending arch rival in my own division.

Maybe they ride out Okafor as a bullpen specialist center.  I don’t think I would want the Celtics to have a young, 7 foot inside scoring option.

Maybe you play him a bit, showcase him a few times a month, then optimize his output in the playoffs.

Then do a sign and trade for a (mid/late?) 1st round pick.

With even Covington getting a lot of money with the Bank Breaking Dynamic Duo (EMBIIDSIMMONS) along with some other of the rotation guys (Saric, Holmes, Fultz, McConnell) also needing money, Philly can’t really pay Okafor anyway, unless they want to run an extra tight 7 man rotation.

If the Sixers can’t pick up some extra draft picks and cap flexibility with an Okafor trade, or get a couple of guys to bolster the back end of their bench, then they might need to hang on to him.

This site is showing the Nets having a pick at 25.  That pick along with some cash, a 12th man type, and a future 2nd rounder might be enough of a payoff.

Okafor is rapidly losing value, but his value probably goes back up again nearer to the trade deadline, then in the playoffs if Philly holds on to him.  Then, he could get an uptick in value if they can do a draft night sign and trade, or Philly could be the 3rd team in a mega trade.

Now, if you look ahead to the playoffs, then the Sixers need to put up as many points on the board as possible going against the Celtics, even the Cavs, then, finally the Warriors/Rockets if Philly shocks the world.

I might not do a Okafor trade NOW unless I can get a backup shot blocker, a third string point guard, and an extra 3 point shooter ALONG WITH a decent 2nd round pick.  Even then, their roster would be overflowing so you would need to stash guys in the G League or overseas.

If the Grizzlies disintegrate (and now Conley will be out for a bit) then the Sixers should shop Okafor for Brandan Wright and Andrew Harrison.  Wright would be an ideal backup big for the Sixers.  Wright/Holmes would be good insurance for Embiid (and Saric).  Andrew Harrison is kinda slow and limited but the pro basketball equivalent of the utility infielder.  Can handle the ball and is an ideal option as a 3rd string point guard, but can also play a bit of the 2 and 3 (solid defense).  The Grizzlies actually played better when Andrew Harrison started at shooting guard.  Harrison would be an ideal 6th perimeter player behind Simmons, Covington, Fultz, Reddick, and McConnell.  If they could get those two players plus some cash and maybe a future 2nd rounder, that would be a great return for Okafor — and just in time for the stretch run/playoffs.
