Wahoo757ParticipantIt looks like Aran is going to need to change his mock now that Andre Drummond is reportedly out of the running at #2.
I really think it’s between Barnes and Robinson, Gerald Henderson is at least serviceable at shooting guard so I don’t think they’re going Beal. Who do you think the Bobcats will select?

PulseGlazerParticipantRobinson makes most sense. He fills a position need, had great athletic numbers, and works hard.

ChrisCrossParticipantuhm, that link is about Jamal Crawford, not sure how that pertains to Drummond and #2.

Wahoo757ParticipantMy apologies, don’t know how that happened.

TyroberParticipantGerald Henderson isn’t going to make you pass on Beal. Having said that I don’t think they pick Beal, but it’s not because of Henderson. I think Robinson is the clear pick here.

benny15Participantas much as Jordan loves taking UNC guys, i believe he favors fearless, high charachter players who are battle testsed and have had good college careers. that describes MKG and would be a Jordan favorite type player, but i think the bobcats know that they need to add scoring options on this team, thats why their three finalists are Robinson, Barnes and Beal it seems.

DatLeftyBoy7Participantare they still looking to trade it?

hubhubParticipantI dont know how can people consider Thomas Robinson as a perfect fit to the Bobcats. To you remeber that last year they picked Bismack Biyombo who is an undersized center. Do you really think that they should add another player who isnt even 6.8 without shoes?
If they are not going by potential and the are not picking Drummond the only right choice for me is Barnes, especially with the numbers he put on combine. I’m sure that Rich Cho knows that whoever the pick the still will be a team which will heave a top 5 pick next year. I would even say top 3. So why dont add a next piece in Barnes and then add Cody Zeller next year who really is a perfect fit to Biyombo. He has size, he has some offensive skills. He has to attributes that Biyombo will never have and thats why I think that Biyombo-Zeller tandem could bring this team to an another level.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantthe bobcats need too bring in more bodies and trading for another lotto pick like 6 and 11 deal with the blazers or even trading down a few spots and add a nice veterean piece

OllstarParticipantMKG will get a long look here. He can be special with the right tutelage.

benny15Participantgood thing they dont let their players play without shoes. with all the holes and needs of the charlote bobcats, i believe their best bet is to go with the most complete player and to me that is Thomas Robinson. Harrison Barnes numbers in the combine as well as his offensive capabilities might contend, but at the end of the day, i think they would go with the player who would give them help on both ends of the floor.

hubhubParticipantI’m 100% sure that Barnes will also help them on both sides of the court. I think that the Bobcats know that they will have a top 5 draft pick next year and they will look more to add the next piece to the puzzle than add a player who doesnt fit to their last years pick. Please tell me why do you think that Robinson fits to Biyombo? Remember that Barnes is played for UNC and Robinson is a Washington guy who declared his love to his home town.

bobforteParticipantThats according to the Chicago tribune which I think they should go with Beal personally but Drummond still works out for them later next week so to rule him out before they have worked him out is bogus. I also agree if you pick up beal, barnes, or mkg next year the draft looks to be big man heavy and you could pick up a big then.

bobforteParticipanttrue the 6 and 11 picks would be perfect but honesty why would the trailblazers do that with them staying at six they still get beal, barnes, mkg, robinson, or drummond which are considered the best players available. No need for them to get rid of their 11 unless they are completely sold on one of these guys over the rest. I wait if im the blazers and if they do take the player i really wanted and i thought it was worth it then work on making the deal after.

What The DevilParticipantThe team is plain devoid of talent….I think they should consider trading the pick to Portland for the picks 6 and 11…They can still get very good value at 6 with Lamb(even though I’m not a fan) or Beal may even still be there…and 11 can net them a legit bigman like Leonard or Zeller….hell take a flyer on PJ3….they just need talent plain and simple

OhCanada-ParticipantI have a gut feeling Barnes will be a Top 3 player in this draft. I would have him as my number two prospect on my biug board.

What The DevilParticipantI honestly think they want Drummond…I just get the feeling they want a big guy to play next to LA who will rebound and block shots which they tried to do with Oden before the injuries…they would have to package the picks together to entice Charlotte to move down in the draft

TheDagger40ParticipantI believe MJ is gonna pick between either Beal of Barnes. He wants to draft a guy who could be the star of the Bobcats, like Kevin Durant. I’m not saying Beal of Barnes are gonna have a KD type impact on this team, but out of MKG, Robinson, Beal, and Barnes, I think Beal and Barnes are the most likely to have this type of impact.

cuseflynn10ParticipantI’ve said ever since the lottery that Charlotte should, and probably will go after Barnes. With Walker, Henderson, Biyombo, and Mullens as a young core, SF is their biggest weakness. Now when we consider the fact that the Bobcats scored the least points per game in the NBA, that should automatically make you think Barnes is a good fit. Then when you add on the fact that Barnes will draw the more fans than Beal or Robinson in NC, I don’t see how they could pass him up. A local product that fills a positional need and a fix to the weak offense.
They could maybe use help down low, but SF is the bigger need. Plus there should be a ton of PF’s and C’s at the top of the draft next year. Next year’s draft should be a factor in Charlotte’s drafting because it’s safe to assume they’ll be picking top 10, and more likely top 5. Noel, Len, Zeller, Poythress, McAdoo, Adams, Mitchell, and Brown could all add depth next year.
If Charlotte was able to land James Harden or another high end free agent, draft Barnes this year, and then land one of the eight guys I just listed above, I think they would be in for a quick turn around.
