ericw2013ParticipantWhat do you think?
New York trade Chandler for DeAndre Jordan and D. Collison.
NY gets a young asset to pair with Carmelo, and an OK PG, a BIG need for them.
LA gets a proven veteran, reliable FT shooter, and a could reunite him CP3. Besides, they have Crawford as their backup PG so they wont miss Collison a lot.

jwall1ParticipantLA would never do this, it would be an awful trade..

ericw2013Participantyou think LA can win a tittle with him as a C? He shies away from the ball in the last minuts of a close game because the free throw shooting.
If LA wants to win now that trade helps them… of course, long term is not a good trade for them, but I belive the CP3 window is closing… I dont know how much will he stay in LA if they keep getting routed in the first round!

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantCP3 is 28 years old, how the hell is his window closing? If anything, it’s opening more as Jordan and Griffin get older and the team gets healthier.
Also, if you’re talking about "win-now", how does trading for a guy that has been injured all season help them get better right now?

Jester87ParticipantIf anything I think this trade would be terrible for the Knicks. The only problem for the Clippers would be their bench shortening a bit, but honestly with CP3 playing so many minutes, you can find easily a decent backup among veteran free agents for the minimum. DeAndre Jordan is probably one of the biggest proofs of how the traditional stats fail compared to the advanced ones. He blocks many shots, but still he’s a terrible defender, always jumping for fakes, often out of position and over-rotating (or not doing it at all). On the other side of the court he’s basically a finisher in the last 3 feet and you can’t play in crunch times because he’s such an easy target for the foul the shitty free throws shooter strategies. Ok, Chandler is getting old, he’s not much of a threat on offense, but at least he can shoot free throws decently, he has court awareness, he’s a real rim protector and knows his limitations and plays accordingly. The only reason I wouldn’t do this trade is because they can still hope to fool someone else and trade Jordan for someone younger than Chandler. But it’s not that big of a reason honestly, in the very worst scenario Chandler could play at least two years of high level basketball (this and the next one) and his deal expires next year, so the Clippers won’t find themselves forced to win right now.
On the other hand, I would like this trade to happen only to get the chance to see how bad Knicks defense would become with Jordan taking Chandler’s place. That would be hilarious, opponents driving to the hoop for easy uncontested layups and Knicks players staring at each other, everyone thinking "hey weren’t you supposed to rotate there?"

HitsterParticipantThe Knicks need Tyson Chandler back more than ever and I don’t see LAC needing to suddenly change their C either.
