Celtics & TWolves looking to Trade UP

Mike Felger is reporting that Ainge offered Perkins and Bill Walker to the Grizzlies for the number 2 pick.

My gut reaction: I don't like it at all. Perkins is a perfect fit for this defense and I don't know if the 2nd pick will be worth giving that up. Even if you don't mind the pricetag, who plays center? We'd litterally be out of big men options. Does this mean Ainge would still want to pick Evans or would he go for Thabeet? If so, isn't that an immediate downgrade on the roster (for no apparent reason)?

As with any rumor like this, take with a grain of salt. Just more smoke indicating a fire somewhere in those hills.

Also rumored is a trade where Minnesota would trade Kevin Love to Memphis in exchange for the #2 pick.

mcHale and Ainge

McHale makes his last terrible impact.
Trading the 6th and 18th pick to the C's for Marbury and B. Walker and future 2nd round pick w cash considerations!!!

Could help the wolves

I think it could help the twolves because they could grab thatbeet at 2, and then get a point guard at 6 which are there needs and maybe grab a power forward with one of there next 2 picks in the first round

Agreed...McHale is a complete ___________ (fill in the blank, i can think of a lot of words that would fit)

The TWolves seem to be more interested now in Rubio than Thabeet. I'm not sure they should trade Kevin Love for Rubio. Granted Rubio would fill the seats but Love & Jefferson is a good combo. Minnesota could be thinking they can find a legit center in next years draft since it is loaded with big men. If I am Memphis I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Kevin Love gives them the legit power forward they need.

The more I think about it

The more I think about it this could be a good move for both teams. I forgot the TWolves would still have the 6th pick. They also still have picks 18. 28, 45, & 47. So they can fill ALOT of holes. Check out this potential lineup. This would be a fun team to watch not to mention a good team that would make the playoffs in a couple years. With the 6th pick they select Hill. Pick 18-Mullens Pick 28-Taj Gibson Pick 45-Mills Pick 47-Kravtsov. Next years draft Minnesota can address the SG & SF positions depending on how well Foye & Brewer develop.

PG- Rubio/Mills/Telfair
SG- Foye/Miller
SF- Gomes/Brewer
PF-Al Jefferson/Taj Gibson/Craig Smith
C-Jordan Hill/Mullens/Kravtsov

Kahn I hope you are better than McHale.

Lucky for Wolves fans Mchale

Lucky for Wolves fans Mchale is no longer in charge and David Kahn is so Mchale won't make a trade he might be the head coach.

Iowas AJ - that is True

The rumor between the TWolves & Memphis is totally bogus I think. You can't even trade a player to the same team he was traded from last year. Remember Memphis traded Kevin Love to Minnesota last year so...I don't think the TWolves can trade him back to Memphis this soon.

No but they can after the

No but they can after the draft because it was a draft day trade last year and it has been a year come draft day.

Jordan Hill

I disagree with Jordan Hill at 6. Kevin Love is better than Jordan Hill.

Couldn't they just trade #6 and #18 for #2?

Gatorhills----Mullens and

Gatorhills----Mullens and Mills will not fall that far. The rest of the plan was alright but i would like for them to grab Evan/Holiday early on and Maybe trade their 1st rounder for a 2nd rounder and maybe a 1st rounder next year. They need to see how a healthy Jefferson and Evan/Foye back court can do before adding any more young players. They need a big man who can defense and Mullens and Thabeet will not fall that far and also next season there are more bigs. They could maybe take a project big in the second round of this year. To me Foye, Gome, Jefferson are solid. Love is okay but does not really work well except off the bench or when Jefferson is not playing.Brewed could be solid when Healthy and Carney is serviceable. Miller gives them a perimeter threat but he has been playing like crap so he could be traded and maybe they can pick up Scbiaerk or another shooter on the cheap. Telfair is not a bad change of pace guard off the bench. His streaky shooting and defense are not good but with the new NBA rules you need to have a quick guy like him on your team. Look at Aaron Brooks who may be smaller. Wolves are not as bad as people think they are. They need to say healthy and develop as a team. This year they need a quality young point. Foye has shown he can play well at the two. Daye would not be bad if they keep their second 1st round pick because he is long and he can get some time to gain weight. He could be a star if he gain muscle mass and a little bit more explosiveness which is possible because he looks like has never lifted weights ever so he could possibly improve his athleticism based on what I just said.

Yeah I doubt Mullens will

Yeah I doubt Mullens will fall to 18 but Mills could easily drop to 45. Mills is short, not a good athlete, mediocre wingspan, mediocre vertical, not a great shooter, has a difficult time finishing....this all adds up to a disappointing draft night for Mills. Daye would be a great fit for the Wolves but I have a feeling that he won't be there at 18.
