valentineCeltics get number one pick. Celtics trade pick 1 to suns for pick 4 and devin booker. Celtics need franchise player but the also need shooting. this gives them a shot at booth. who says no if yes who do Celtics take at 4. im leaning toward sabonis or brown. Celtics need front court help and im always scared of eurodudes high in the draft. id rather kick myself for not picking a guy than slap myself for picking a bust.

HitsterParticipantI don’t see there being any way that Danny Ainge would trade the number 1 pick unless he was offered a top 10 NBA player in return unless it was 2nd pick plus say Randle or Okafor etc. if Philly or Lakers wanted to move up.
Phoenix probably want picks more than Boston and a deal across the two conferences between a contending and a rebuilding team always makes sense. But Phoenix would not want to give up Alex Len and would Boston want to take on Tyson Chandler’s contract etc I wonder.
Also both teams have several picks this year so it’s not like a team trading to get extra picks etc.

celticsthugthrowing in a center would help. I like len. chandler not so much these days. booker got a lot of potential. Celtics cant shoot to save the life and booker is better then hield.

Robb_CParticipantLet RJ Hunter develop, no way does Booker command a number 1 pick.. Brandon Ingram would be a great fit for Boston.. I wouldnt Draft Simmons unless Boston planned on letting Turner walk.. IMO Simmons is just a bigger verison of Turner without the basketball IQ. It would be hard for the two to co-exist and gives boston a horrid shooting lineup..

BiggysmallsParticipantWhy would Phoenix do that trade?
Wasn’t Booker really good down the stretch last year? Same with Len?
Unless they think Simmons/Ingram is a bona fide franchise player – in which case why would Boston do said trade – I don’t see why either team would want to do that deal.

HitsterParticipantAlex Len is a player who Boston may be interested in if Phoenix would consider offers for him. If the Nets pick came over at 3rd or lower then they might put out feelers to see what they could get for it or what offers they get put to them.
But personally I think Ainge will draft and then look at FA and decide if he considers putting the drafted players in play to try and make a trade depending on how FA goes.
