Celtics to sign Jason Collins
I didn't realize people still wanted Jason Collins.. What he is is an extremely slow footed seven footer.. Gives you some fouls to use not much else... Lets just say he was at his peak 9 years ago when he averaged 6 pts and 6 rebounds in 31.8 minutes... Not much value there..
Celtics going back downhill
Rondo better perfect that jump shot are they are going to have problems.
I don't really like it, he is a good defender but honestly i'd rather play Wilcox at the 5 and play Garnett more minutes at the 5 with Sullinger and Bass at the 4, plus Jeff Green should get some minutes at the 4. I think Collins might just be insurance in case Wilcox doesn't come back strong, Sullinger's back acts up or, god forbid, KG's knees give out.
Just another big body to throw at guys like Howard and Bynum. He'll play solid post defense but that's just about it. Many years in the playoffs too, so atleast he has some experience for the end of the bench

It's being reported on ESPN, can't provide a link as of yet.
It looks to me like this is The Steamer's replacement. Well, Collins is a 7 footer, so that should help out. Not really as versatile as Stiemsma but hes a big body to clog the paint and will grab a few boards and bock a few shots, good pick up for the Celtics.
