Does anyone think it is realistic that the Celtics could add a top FA this summer and trade for another All Star level player but still keep the two Brooklyn picks intact. So you’d have Thomas, Bradley, Horford, FA All Star, traded for All Star plus say Fultz and Bamba in yor line up for 2018/19.

With their own picks, guys stashed away, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and Rozier the Celtics have a lot of trade ammo to try and get a top level guy especially if it is one whose contract might be running down.

If they could keep Jaylen as well then the depth could be scary.

if they want an all star in a trade they will have to give up the brooklyn pick most likely unless that player is really pushing to leave. There going to AT LEAST give up brown they wont be able to get fultz it will either be keep the pick or trade for an all star.

Yeah it would be impossible to trade for a star without at least 1 Brooklyn pick going out(likely 2017 since 2018 is no guarantee to be Top 5).

Salary cap wise it would be hard for Boston to add the salaries of both a Top FA and a All-Star player. But if it could, trading Brookyln’s 2018 pick, plus players, plus other draft assets possibly could land an Allstar while getting GH from Utah and still get a Fultz/Ball/Jackson. It is a long shot but still within possiblities.

They maybe able to for an All-Star but if they want a talent to truly make them better i.e PG13 they are going to have to part with a pick or 2.

If the Clippers blow it up, then go for Griffin.

Hayward is nice, but rebounding is needed more.

My thoughts were around a possible move for Paul George, if he says he will move on, might a package around Brown, Smart, Rozier etc be far better than nothing at all.

All though Indiana may seem like they will lose PG13, Boston will have to pony up to get him.

He is absolutely insane in these playoffs and the Lakers will want him as well so Indiana will have options.

I’d take Ingram, Randle and Clarkson over any player package from Boston so that pick would be necessary to get him out of Indiana.

Celtics really need a big who can rebound. Horford cannot be a full time center for the celtics. Maybe a player they can go after is Drummond. Although is contact is awful Celtics have the cap space + they can make a little (wiggle room) in a cap  and ship another player to Detroit. Drummond doesn’t have to be the #1 option like he is in detroit (smh) . He can be the  fourth or fifth option.. If team use the hack a drummond, then horford can shift to C.

The pistons would most likely be asking for a pick in return.

I dont think any of the rumoured available players are worth targetting unless you can get Paul George or Jimmy Butler. Chris Paul is great but doesnt address thier needs only adds to thier strengths. The same could be sair for Hayward who isnt leaving Utah anyways. Millsap and Melo wont add rebounding or rim protection. Griffin is always injured and is not a good fit offensively because he holds onto the ball and his defence is terrible. Drummond would be Stevens worse nightmare on the offensive end. Whos out there?

They should just stick to the plan and continue building throught the draft selecting best player availavle each year and hope they can get some elite talent.

Personally I hope they draw blanks each year draft busts do a one for one swap with Horford for Drummond go on an 82 game losing streak and relocate to Los Vegas but thats just me.
